What we like about Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

  • Premium and attractive traditional watch design with a slim, lightweight stainless steel or titanium body.
  • Intuitive physical rotating bezel that provides satisfying tactile feedback for easy menu navigation.
  • Large, crisp, and vibrant Super AMOLED display that remains easy to read even in direct sunlight.
  • Comprehensive health and fitness tracking features, including automatic workout detection, ECG, SpO2 monitoring, and fall detection.
  • Smooth and responsive user interface powered by Samsung's Tizen OS.
  • Excellent communication features with a built-in speaker and microphone for clear calls and a detailed messaging experience.

What we don't like about Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

  • Disappointing battery life, typically lasting only 1 to 2 days, especially when using the always-on display or GPS.
  • Limited third-party app selection compared to competitors like Apple Watch or Wear OS devices.
  • Significant feature limitations when paired with an iPhone, such as no Samsung Pay and restricted notification replies.
  • High initial launch price makes it a costly investment compared to previous models or the Active series.
  • Slow charging times, often taking over two hours for a full charge.
  • Bixby voice assistant is often described as slow, unpolished, or less capable than rivals.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is a premium smartwatch available in 41mm and 45mm stainless steel or titanium cases, featuring a vibrant 1.2 or 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display (360x360 resolution) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass DX. Running on Tizen OS 5.5 with an Exynos 9110 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, it is characterized by its iconic physical rotating bezel for tactile navigation and MIL-STD-810G military-grade durability with 5ATM water resistance. Main pros include its sophisticated traditional watch design, a comprehensive health suite including ECG, SpO2 monitoring, and fall detection, and seamless integration with Android devices. However, it suffers from a relatively short battery life of approximately 1.5 to 2 days, a limited selection of third-party apps compared to rivals, and restricted functionality when paired with iOS devices.
