Third-party reviews

What we like about Mobvoi TicWatch Atlas

  • Built-in GPS records runs and hikes without relying on your phone.
  • Fall detection and SOS can text your location to an emergency contact.
  • A 628 mAh battery gives several days between charges.
  • A full charge takes 80 min, so the watch is ready again quickly.
  • A backlight shows your heart rate zone at a glance.
  • 110 exercise modes cover a wide range of sports.

What we don't like about Mobvoi TicWatch Atlas

  • No iOS support, so iPhone owners cannot use it.
  • Software updates have ended, so the watch stays on its current version.
  • Fall detection can mistake a jump for a fall.
  • The SOS button is sensitive enough to trigger by accident when you wear gloves.
  • At 52 mm high and 48 mm wide, the case is too large for slim wrists.

Verdict

Built for hiking and ball sports, the Mobvoi TicWatch Atlas puts a sturdy Wear OS watch with its own GPS on your wrist. Battery life is 4 days, or 6 to 7 days in testing with mixed use, which covers a long weekend. A full charge takes 80 min, so a short break is enough. A second low-power display shows basic information at all times, and the sapphire glass stays readable in direct sun. It survived knocks, falls and extreme temperatures in testing. Storage of 32 GB and 2 GB of RAM keep apps running smoothly. The trade-off is size, since at 52 mm high and 48 mm wide it is too big for slim wrists. It suits an Android owner who wants a tough outdoor watch and does not mind bulk.
