What we like about Imoo Watch Phone Z1

  • Durable and robust build with IPX8 water resistance
  • Reliable voice and high-quality video calling features
  • Strong parental controls, including 'Class Mode' and stranger rejection
  • Long-lasting battery life, typically providing 2–3 days of use
  • Accurate real-time GPS location tracking for many users
  • Easy setup process for both the device and companion app

What we don't like about Imoo Watch Phone Z1

  • Chunky and bulky design that may look oversized on small wrists
  • Reports of inconsistent or non-live tracking updates (intervals of 5-10 mins)
  • Small and difficult-to-press power button located on the back
  • Limited onboard storage (128MB) which fills up quickly with photos
  • App translation issues and occasional app crashes reported by some users
  • Lack of an on-screen keyboard, preventing children from replying to texts
  • Difficulties with specific SIM card compatibility or network settings in some regions

Verdict

The imoo Watch Phone Z1 is a 4G-enabled children's smartwatch featuring a 1.3-inch TFT display (240x240 resolution), a 2MP wide-angle front camera for HD video calls, and a Spreadtrum UWS6131E processor paired with 128MB of RAM and 128MB of storage. Its primary strengths include precise real-time tracking via GPS/GLONASS/Wi-Fi/LBS, an IPX8 water resistance rating suitable for swimming, and a long-lasting 740mAh silicon anode battery providing up to 2-3 days of active use. Safety features like Class Mode, stranger call rejection, and an SOS button further enhance its appeal for parents seeking a secure communication tool without full internet access. However, its bulky and chunky design may feel oversized on smaller wrists, and the lack of an on-screen keyboard restricts children to sending voice messages or emojis rather than text.
