What we like about Huawei Watch GT 4 46mm

  • Exceptional battery life, often lasting 7 to 14 days on a single charge
  • Premium, traditional watch design with a high-quality stainless steel build
  • Bright and sharp AMOLED display with smooth touch responsiveness
  • Accurate health and fitness tracking, particularly for heart rate and GPS
  • Great value for money compared to high-end competitors from Apple and Samsung
  • Reliable Bluetooth call quality and clear speaker performance

What we don't like about Huawei Watch GT 4 46mm

  • Lack of third-party app support due to the absence of the Google Play Store
  • NFC contactless payments are unavailable or highly limited in many regions
  • Installation requires sideloading the Huawei Health app on Android, which can be tedious
  • Limited interaction with notifications; users generally cannot type full replies
  • Slow GPS lock-on times reported by some users compared to competitors
  • Lacks some advanced smart features like a voice assistant on non-Huawei phones

Verdict

The Huawei Watch GT 4 46mm is a premium smartwatch featuring a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution (326 PPI) and a distinctive octagonal stainless steel case. Key characteristics include the TruSeen 5.5+ heart rate monitoring system, dual-band five-system GNSS for precise GPS tracking, and a 5ATM water resistance rating suitable for swimming. Its primary pros are its exceptional battery life, which lasts up to 14 days under maximum usage or 8 days with regular use, and its broad compatibility with both Android and iOS devices. However, common cons include limited third-party app support via AppGallery, the lack of contactless payment functionality in many regions, and some difficulty installing the companion app on non-Huawei phones.
