What we like about Honor Watch Gs Pro

  • Exceptional battery life, often lasting up to 25 days on a single charge
  • Rugged and durable build with 14 military-grade certifications for extreme conditions
  • High-quality, bright 1.39-inch AMOLED display that remains visible in direct sunlight
  • Accurate GPS tracking and useful 'Route Back' breadcrumb navigation for hikers
  • Comprehensive health and activity tracking with over 100 workout modes, including specialized skiing and snowboarding metrics

What we don't like about Honor Watch Gs Pro

  • Proprietary Lite OS lacks support for third-party apps and lacks deep integration with services like Strava
  • Chunky and bulky design may be uncomfortably large for those with small wrists or for wearing during sleep
  • Limited smartwatch functionality: cannot reply to messages or view images from notifications
  • Over-reliance on the Huawei Health app, which requires additional HMS Core installation on non-Huawei/Honor phones
  • Built-in speaker voice for workout updates can be loud, repetitive, and difficult to customise

Verdict

The Honor Watch GS Pro is a rugged, adventure-oriented smartwatch featuring a circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display (454 x 454 resolution, 326 PPI) housed in a reinforced polycarbonate body with a stainless steel bezel. Designed for extreme environments, it is MIL-STD-810G compliant across 14 categories and offers 5ATM water resistance. Key internal specs include the Kirin A1 chipset, 32MB RAM, 4GB of storage (2GB for up to 500 songs), and a high-capacity 790mAh battery that delivers an industry-leading 25-day typical usage life, or up to 100 hours in outdoor GPS power-saving mode. Main pros include its exceptional battery longevity, robust build, and comprehensive outdoor toolset such as 'Route Back' breadcrumb navigation, a barometric altimeter, and over 100 workout modes. However, notable cons include a lack of third-party app support, no NFC for payments, limited notification interactivity, and a bulky 13.6mm thick design that may be too large for some wrists.
