What we like about Huawei Watch GT 4 41mm

  • Elegant and feminine 'floating' round design that resembles a traditional premium watch
  • Excellent battery life, typically lasting 4–7 days, which outperforms many competitors
  • High-quality 1.32-inch AMOLED display with vibrant colours and good sunlight legibility
  • Accurate health and fitness tracking, including heart rate, GPS, and detailed sleep analysis
  • Lightweight and comfortable for long-term wear, including overnight for sleep tracking
  • Seamless connectivity and Bluetooth calling functionality with clear microphone quality

What we don't like about Huawei Watch GT 4 41mm

  • Lack of NFC contactless payment support in many regions, including the UK
  • Very limited third-party app ecosystem compared to Wear OS or watchOS
  • No built-in voice assistant (unless paired with a Huawei phone)
  • Fiddly setup process for the Huawei Health app on non-Huawei Android phones
  • GPS can sometimes be slow to acquire a satellite signal initially
  • Reduced battery life and slightly less robust GPS compared to the larger 46mm variant

Verdict

The Huawei Watch GT 4 41mm is a sophisticated smartwatch featuring a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution (352 ppi) and a lightweight 37g stainless steel case measuring 9.8mm in thickness. Key characteristics include 5 ATM water resistance, TruSeen 5.5+ heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, and over 100 workout modes, supported by an upgraded dual-band GNSS for precise location tracking. Its main pros are an elegant, traditional watch design, a bright 1,000-nit screen, and a competitive 7-day battery life (typical use), which significantly outperforms many other premium smartwatches. However, notable cons include the lack of functional NFC payments in many regions, limited third-party app support via the AppGallery, and some software integration hurdles for iOS and non-Huawei Android users.
