Verdict

The Ricoh WG-20 is a rugged, entry-level compact camera featuring a 14-megapixel 1/2.3" CCD sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens with a 28-140mm equivalent focal range. Designed for extreme environments, it is waterproof to 10 meters, shockproof from 1.5 meters, crushproof up to 100kgf, and freezeproof down to -10°C. Its standout features include a unique Digital Microscope mode with five dedicated LED macro lights for 1cm close-up photography and triple digital shake reduction. While it offers excellent durability and a lightweight 164g body, its main drawbacks are the lack of Full HD video (limited to 720p), a low-resolution 2.7-inch 230k-dot LCD screen, and slow continuous shooting speeds of approximately 1 fps.
