What we like about Huawei Watch 4 Pro

  • Premium build quality featuring aerospace-grade titanium and spherical sapphire glass.
  • Extremely comfortable and high-quality bracelet with a tool-free, quick-release link adjustment system.
  • Excellent battery life, offering up to 4.5 days in standard mode and extending up to 21 days in 'Ultra-long battery life' mode.
  • Highly accurate health tracking, including heart rate, SpO2, and a comprehensive 'Health Glance' feature.
  • Vibrant and responsive 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with impressive brightness and depth.
  • Versatile connectivity options, including standalone eSIM support for calls and navigation without a phone.

What we don't like about Huawei Watch 4 Pro

  • Gargantuan 48mm case size that can be heavy and uncomfortable for users with smaller wrists.
  • Limited app ecosystem due to the lack of Google Play Store and support for popular third-party apps like Spotify or Google Maps.
  • Convoluted setup process for Android users, requiring a manual download of the Huawei Health app via browser or QR code.
  • NFC payment functionality is currently restricted or non-functional in many Western regions, including the UK and EU.
  • Sleep tracking can occasionally be less sensitive, sometimes failing to accurately capture exact wake-up times or naps compared to competitors.

Verdict

The Huawei Watch 4 Pro is a premium flagship smartwatch featuring a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED color display with a 466 × 466 resolution and spherical sapphire glass, encased in aerospace-grade titanium with a ceramic back. It is equipped with an array of advanced sensors including ECG, skin temperature, SpO2, and a barometer, while offering standalone connectivity via eSIM and dual-band GNSS for precise tracking. Main pros include its durable, high-end build quality, a comprehensive 'Health Glance' feature that checks seven metrics in 60 seconds, and an impressive battery life of up to 4.5 days in standard mode or 21 days in ultra-long mode. However, notable cons include its bulky 48mm size and 65g weight which may be too large for some wrists, the absence of Google services due to software restrictions, and limited third-party app availability.
