Third-party reviews

What we like about Amazfit Cheetah Square

  • Lightweight and comfortable design, weighing only 25g without the strap
  • Highly accurate MaxTrack dual-band GPS for precise tracking in challenging environments
  • Vibrant and sharp 1.75-inch AMOLED display with 1,000 nits peak brightness
  • Support for offline maps and GPX route imports for easier navigation during runs
  • Physical rotating crown and two extra buttons for easier navigation during active sports
  • Large internal storage (approx. 2.2GB - 2.3GB) for music files compared to other Amazfit square models

What we don't like about Amazfit Cheetah Square

  • Lacks a built-in speaker and microphone, meaning it cannot support Bluetooth phone calls
  • Battery life is shorter than typical Amazfit models, with some users reporting as few as 4-5 days with heavy usage
  • Polymer construction can feel somewhat 'cheap' or less premium compared to competitors at the same price point
  • Optical heart rate sensor can experience lag during high-intensity intervals or weightlifting
  • Annoying software bugs, such as frequent 'A-GPS file out of date' messages and unreliable weather updates
  • Sleep tracking can lack sensitivity, sometimes failing to record brief nighttime wake-ups accurately

Verdict

The Amazfit Cheetah Square is an ultra-lightweight running smartwatch featuring a 1.75-inch HD AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a 341 PPI resolution. It is built with a durable fiber-reinforced polymer frame and an aluminum alloy bezel, weighing just 25g without the strap. Key characteristics include dual-band MaxTrack GPS technology for high-precision tracking, AI-powered coaching via the Zepp Coach, and over 150 sports modes with 5 ATM water resistance. Its main pros are the vibrant, sunlight-readable screen, accurate dual-band positioning, and a solid battery life of up to 8 days under typical usage (or 14 days in battery saver mode). However, cons include the lack of a built-in speaker or microphone for calls, a lack of support for third-party music streaming services like Spotify, and a proprietary operating system that offers limited third-party app integration.
