What we don't like about Intel Core i5-13600KF

  • No cooler in the box, so a good cooler must be bought.
  • Boost power of 181 W needs a strong cooler and power supply.
  • No integrated graphics, so a graphics card is required.
  • Base power of 125 W is high, so airflow in the case matters.

Verdict

For someone who wants to overclock and push a processor hard, the Intel Core i5-13600KF is a strong choice. It has 14 cores and 20 threads, and its boost clock reaches 5.1 GHz. Single-core speed is high as well, which helps with games and lightly threaded programs. The unlocked multiplier lets you raise the clock yourself, which is the main reason to pick the K version. The power draw is heavy, though: 125 W base and 181 W at boost, so the cooling and power supply must be strong. There is no cooler in the box, so you buy one separately, and there is no integrated graphics. It suits a builder who wants a fast PC for gaming or rendering and does not mind spending time on cooling.
