Third-party reviews

What we like about HOVERAir AQUA

  • IP67 waterproof sealing for rain, splashes and water landings
  • Automatic follow-me guided by a wearable beacon
  • 4K at up to 100 fps with HDR and slow motion
  • Top speed of about 15.2 m/s for fast action
  • Light 249 g design

What we don't like about HOVERAir AQUA

  • Highly specialised for solo action filming
  • 12 MP camera is modest for still photos
  • Few user reviews so far
  • Pricey compared with general-purpose camera drones

Verdict

The HOVERAir AQUA is a 249 g flying camera built for water sports and wet weather. Its IP67 sealing means splashes, rain and even a dunk in the water are part of the plan rather than the end of the flight. The drone follows its user automatically, guided by a wearable beacon and joystick controller, which makes it suited to surfers, kayakers and other solo athletes who cannot hold a remote. The 12 MP camera records 4K at up to 100 fps with HDR and slow-motion options, and top speed of about 15.2 m/s helps it keep up with fast action. It is a newer product with few user reviews so far, and it is far more specialised than a general-purpose camera drone. For filming yourself on or near the water, it fills a gap few rivals cover.
