Reviews last updated: August 2026 · How we calculate this

What we like about Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 (8GB + 128GB)

  • Fantastic, bright, 120Hz AMOLED display, great for media consumption.
  • Excellent battery life, often lasting over a full day, especially on Pro and Pro+ models.
  • Very fast charging speeds (up to 120W on the Pro+ model), with the charger often included in the box for many regions.
  • Solid and premium-feeling build quality and design for the price, with good IP ratings on some variants.
  • Decent main camera that performs well in good lighting conditions and features OIS on some variants.
  • Good price-to-performance ratio, offering features usually found in more expensive phones.
  • Inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack (on the base 4G and 5G models) and an IR blaster across the series.
  • Ample RAM and storage options, often with expandable storage via microSD card slot.

What we don't like about Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 (8GB + 128GB)

  • Software experience (HyperOS) often has bloatware, pre-installed apps with excessive notifications, and occasional performance stutters or lag.
  • Camera performance can be inconsistent; the ultra-wide and macro lenses are generally poor quality and the main sensor struggles in low light.
  • Lack of 4K video recording on the base 4G and 5G models, with only 1080p being available.
  • Performance is considered adequate for daily tasks but not suitable for heavy gaming or power users.
  • Some models launch with older Android versions, meaning fewer future OS updates.
  • Haptics (vibration motor) feel cheap on the non-Pro models.
  • Lack of an ultra-wide camera on the base 4G model, which was a downgrade from its predecessor.
  • Aggressive battery management can cause issues with push notifications for some apps.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage offers a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra processor, and features a 108MP main camera and a large 5,500mAh battery. It is praised for its bright display, long battery life, decent main camera, and legacy features like a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, and expandable microSD storage. However, it uses an aging Helio G99 Ultra chipset, offers no 4K video recording, lacks an ultrawide camera, and in some regions, does not include a charger in the box.
