What we like about Ducky One X Mini Wireless

  • Innovative inductive switch technology offering 0.1mm to 3.5mm adjustable actuation and rapid trigger performance
  • Superior typing experience with high-quality, pre-lubed switches and a gasket-mounted design
  • Excellent build quality and 'heft' despite the plastic case, providing a premium feel
  • High-purity (85%) PBT double-shot keycaps that are highly resistant to shine and wear
  • Versatile tri-mode connectivity (2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth for up to 4 devices, and USB-C)
  • Convenient web-based software (Ducky Hub) that requires no local installation
  • Outstanding sound profile with seven layers of internal dampening foam to eliminate ping

What we don't like about Ducky One X Mini Wireless

  • Software limitations including a lack of custom gaming profiles and granular 'Rapid Trigger' settings
  • Web-based software is currently reported as buggy, confusing, and unresponsive by some users
  • Switches are held loosely in the PCB and can easily be dislodged when swapping keycaps
  • Mediocre battery life, approximately 12 hours with RGB lighting active
  • Proprietary switch design means no third-party replacement or 'hot-swap' alternatives are currently available
  • Difficult teardown and modding process due to a combination of screws and fragile plastic clips
  • Occasional reports of coil whine when RGB lighting is enabled

Verdict

The Ducky One X Mini Wireless is a premium 60% layout mechanical keyboard featuring world-first inductive analog switches that offer adjustable actuation (0.1mm to 3.5mm), rapid trigger, and multi-point trigger capabilities. It boasts tri-mode connectivity (2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.0 for up to four devices, and USB-C), a 2500mAh battery providing approximately 10-15 hours of RGB-enabled use, and Ducky’s QUACK Mechanics+ design with seven internal dampening layers and a gasket-mount structure for superior acoustics. Key pros include exceptionally smooth typing, high-purity 85% PBT doubleshot keycaps, and a weightier, solid build quality compared to previous models. However, notable cons include relatively short battery life with lighting active, a web-based software (Ducky Hub) that some users find buggy or lacking in advanced profile management, and reported issues with switches being easily dislodged from the PCB when swapping keycaps.
