Ducky One 3 Mini Review | 64 Data compared

The Ducky One 3 Mini is a mass-produced 60% mechanical gaming keyboard that builds upon its predecessor, the One 2 Mini, by introducing highly requested enthusiast-grade features. Ducky moves away from standard black aesthetics for this model, instead utilizing eye-catching multi-coloured layouts like the blue, grey, and neon "DayBreak" edition, paired with premium, lightly textured PBT keycaps. Under the hood, the keyboard heavily emphasizes acoustic and performance upgrades by integrating a hotswappable PCB, factory-lubed stabilizers, and built-in noise-dampening foam layers to eliminate hollow casing ring. The unboxing experience remains a standout feature for the brand, as the package generously includes extras like a braided USB-C cable, a switch puller, a keycap puller, a plastic dust cover, and additional PBT keycaps. The review highlights several key strengths and weaknesses that define the keyboard's value. Among its pros, the board delivers an exceptional typing and acoustic experience out of the box due to its nicely lubed stabilizers, dual-layer noise-dampening foam, and great PBT keycaps. The addition of a hotswap PCB makes it incredibly easy for users to pull out sub-par stock switches—such...

The Ducky One 3 Yellow Mini is a highly rigid, 60% form factor mechanical keyboard praised for its exceptional build quality and "Quack Mechanics" design. Its most striking feature is its rich yellow colourway, though it is also available in Fuji, Matcha, and Daybreak themes. A major highlight for enthusiasts is its hot-swappable PCB, allowing users to easily change switches—such as the tested Cherry Silent Reds—without soldering. Additionally, it features premium PBT double-shot keycaps that provide a superior tactile feel and high durability against wear. Despite its high quality, the review identifies a few drawbacks, most notably the lack of dedicated software for managing RGB lighting and macros, requiring users to rely on complex on-keyboard shortcut keys. The keyboard also lacks an included wrist rest, which the reviewer noted would have improved comfort for long-term use. However, the inclusion of sound-dampening EVA foam and a rubber membrane significantly improves acoustics, leading the reviewer to grant it a Platinum Award for being a top-tier prebuilt option for gamers willing to pay a slightly higher price for quality.

The Ducky One 3 Mini Aura Edition is an ultra-compact, 60-percent mechanical keyboard that prioritises striking RGB lighting and high-quality "QUACK Mechanics" construction. It features a frosted translucent black or white case paired with clear-top Kailh Jellyfish linear switches and frosted, side-lit pudding keycaps that create an incredibly bright visual display. It retains the superb internal sound dampening of the standard One 3 Mini—using thick silicone padding and case foam—resulting in a consistent, satisfying, and quiet typing experience. Gamers and typists will appreciate its hot-swappable switches, a 1,000 Hz polling rate, and extensive software-free onboard customization that allows for deep per-key RGB mixing and complex macro layouts saved across multiple onboard profiles. However, the specialized aesthetic and layout introduce several significant compromises. On the positive side (pros), the keyboard packs deep functionality into a space-saving footprint, offers robust hardware-level programming without bloatware, features premium doubleshot polycarbonate keycaps, and delivers high-tier acoustic performance. On the negative side (cons), there is no companion software to speed up the tedious onboard mapping process, and the factory rainbow lighting profile is completely unadjustable. Furthermore,...

The Ducky One 3 is a well-built, versatile mechanical keyboard featuring hot-swappable switches, durable PBT keycaps, and exceptional low-latency performance suitable for gaming. Its internal design incorporates sound-absorbing foam, resulting in quiet acoustics, while offering fully programmable macros for enhanced productivity. Key drawbacks include its wired-only design and the absence of a wrist rest for improved ergonomics. Furthermore, the lack of companion software means customization is limited to onboard controls, and the stock keycaps do not support RGB shine-through, reducing visibility in dark environments.
