What we like about GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming OC

  • Excellent cooling performance with low GPU and VRAM temperatures
  • Generally quiet operation, especially when using the Silent BIOS mode
  • Lower risk of coil whine compared to some competitors
  • Includes a high-quality anti-sag bracket for structural support
  • Dual BIOS feature allows switching between 'OC' and 'Silent' modes
  • Recessed power port design facilitates easier cable management
  • High power limit (up to 400W) offers good headroom for overclocking

What we don't like about GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming OC

  • Physically massive size (4-slot thickness) may not fit in all cases
  • Plastic shroud feels less premium than some high-end metal designs
  • Default fan curve can be overly aggressive/loud without manual tuning
  • RGB software (Gigabyte Control Center) can be buggy or unintuitive
  • Marginal performance increase over the original non-Super RTX 4080

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming OC is a high-performance graphics card built on the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, featuring 10,240 CUDA cores and a factory-overclocked boost clock of 2595 MHz. It is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6X memory on a 256-bit bus, delivering an effective speed of 23 Gbps to handle demanding 4K gaming and creative workflows. Main pros include its highly efficient Windforce cooling system with triple 110mm alternate-spinning fans, a robust dual BIOS for performance or silent modes, and an included anti-sag bracket to support its sturdy build. However, the card is exceptionally large at 342mm in length and nearly 4 slots thick, which may present compatibility issues in smaller cases, and the plastic shroud design is sometimes noted as feeling less premium than higher-tier models.
