What we like about ATK Edge 60 HE

  • Premium CNC anodized aluminum build quality with no sharp edges or flex
  • Extremely low latency with an 8kHz polling rate and 256kHz scanning rate
  • Highly precise magnetic switches (TTC Magneto or Gateron Jade) with adjustable Rapid Trigger (RT) down to 0.001mm
  • Well-lubricated factory stabilizers and switches providing a smooth typing experience
  • Intuitive cloud-based software/web hub for easy profile management and customization
  • Compact 60% layout that maximizes desk space for mouse movement during competitive gaming
  • High-quality PBT keycaps included with the board

What we don't like about ATK Edge 60 HE

  • Noticeably loud acoustic profile that may lack sufficient internal dampening for some users
  • Fixed typing angle with no adjustable feet for height customization
  • Reported software and firmware connection issues where the device may not be recognized by certain driver versions
  • Slow shipping times reported by some international customers
  • Steep learning curve for the 60% layout, requiring layer switching for essential keys like arrows and functions
  • Higher price point compared to some entry-level hall effect alternatives

Verdict

The ATK Edge 60 HE is a high-performance 60% layout magnetic switch keyboard featuring a premium CNC-machined aluminum alloy case and a top-mount structure for durability and a refined aesthetic. Engineered for elite esports, it boasts a staggering 8,000Hz polling rate and a 256kHz scanning rate, delivering ultra-low latency as low as 0.08ms. Its Hall Effect magnetic switches (such as Gateron Jade or TTC Magneto) offer a customizable Rapid Trigger (RT) range from 0.001mm to 3.3mm with 0.001mm step precision, allowing for near-instant actuation and reset. Main pros include its exceptional responsiveness that rivals industry leaders, high-quality PBT dye-sublimated keycaps in a Cherry profile, and a robust dual-mode toggle system for accessing secondary functions. However, potential cons include a non-adjustable typing angle on some models, noticeably loud acoustics due to minimal internal dampening at its price point, and a relatively high weight of approximately 1.0kg to 1.47kg depending on the specific edition.
