What we like about Shark NV602

  • Excellent suction power on both minimum and maximum settings.
  • Versatile Lift-Away technology transforms it into a lightweight, portable vacuum for stairs and upholstery.
  • Long 8-metre power cord provides an extensive cleaning reach without swapping sockets.
  • Useful LED headlights on the floorhead clearly illuminate hidden dust and debris.
  • Effective floor mode toggling with the option to turn the brush roll off for hard floors to prevent scratching.
  • Generous 1.1-litre dustbin capacity requires less frequent emptying.
  • Anti-Allergen Complete Seal traps 99.9% of dust, making it great for allergy sufferers.

What we don't like about Shark NV602

  • Maximum suction mode creates strong resistance, making the vacuum heavy and difficult to push.
  • Lacks the dual-roller DuoClean head found on premium models, making it less effective at picking up large debris on hard floors.
  • Hair wraps easily around the roller, and the brush bar cannot be removed, making it frustrating to clean out tangled hair.
  • Can feel bulky and difficult to manoeuvre for first-time upright vacuum users.
  • Weight distribution feels heavy at the handle/top for some users, which may cause hand fatigue.

Verdict

The Shark NV602 is a corded upright bagless vacuum cleaner featuring a 750W motor, an 8-metre power cord, and a 1.1-litre dust cup capacity. Its standout characteristics and pros include Lift-Away technology for conversion into a portable cleaner, dual cleaning modes for carpets and hard floors with adjustable suction control, LED headlights for visibility, and an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal that traps 99.9% of dust and allergens. However, a notable con is that it lacks an anti-hair wrap brush roll, meaning long hair can easily become tangled and proving difficult to clear as the brush roll cannot be completely removed for cleaning.
