What we like about vivo X Note (12GB + 512GB)

  • Massive 7-inch 2K+ E5 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,500 nits
  • Excellent build quality and elegant design with a premium feel
  • Top-tier quad-camera system featuring ZEISS optics, high dynamic range, and vibrant color accuracy
  • Large Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max in-display fingerprint sensor that supports two-finger unlocking
  • Powerful performance for multitasking and gaming with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor
  • Fast 80W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities

What we don't like about vivo X Note (12GB + 512GB)

  • Large size and 21:10 aspect ratio can make one-handed use difficult for some users
  • Lacks stylus support, which many users expect for a screen of this size
  • Average battery life considering the massive, power-hungry 7-inch display
  • Software limitations in Origin OS, including some untranslated Chinese text and non-intuitive navigation for global users
  • Restricted third-party charging compatibility; non-proprietary chargers may charge significantly slower
  • Missing common hardware features like a 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage

Verdict

The Vivo X Note (12GB + 512GB) is a premium, large-screen flagship smartphone featuring an expansive 7-inch QHD+ (3080 x 1440) LTPO AMOLED 120Hz display with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Its main pros include a versatile quad-camera system co-engineered with Zeiss optics (50MP main with OIS, 48MP ultrawide, 12MP 2x telephoto, and 8MP 5x periscope telephoto), a large 5000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, IP68 dust/water resistance, and stereo speakers. Primary cons include its very large size and weight, which may not appeal to all users, the software (OriginOS) being China-only and potentially less polished in video mode compared to still photography at launch, and the lack of a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
