What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves. Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Score: The average grade is 80% of the review mark; the number of reviews is the other 20% (1 review = 5, the typical number in this category = 8, the most-reviewed model = 10).
Enough data: With few reviews, the average grade is pulled toward the typical grade of this category. No reviews yet: 7.2 for now.

Third-party reviews

What we like about Intel Core i9-13900F

  • 24 cores and 32 threads handle heavy multi-core jobs.
  • A 5.6 GHz boost clock keeps single tasks quick.
  • A cooler is included, so one purchase less.
  • Supports up to 192 GB of memory at 5600 MHz.
  • Works with both DDR4 and DDR5 memory.
  • 36 MB of L3 cache keeps data close to the cores.

What we don't like about Intel Core i9-13900F

  • Boost power of 219 W needs a strong power supply and good cooling.
  • There is no integrated graphics, so a separate graphics card is needed.
  • The multiplier is locked, so there is no easy overclocking.
  • Software has to spread work across 24 cores to gain much.
  • The 100 °C maximum operating temperature means cooling must be good.

Verdict

With 24 cores and 32 threads, the Intel Core i9-13900F is a strong choice for heavy multi-core work such as video editing and rendering. Its boost clock reaches 5.6 GHz, so single tasks also finish quickly. Using all those cores still needs software that can split work across them. The box includes a cooler, which saves one purchase on a new build. It supports DDR4 and DDR5 memory, up to 192 GB at 5600 MHz. The trade-off is power: when it boosts it can draw 219 W, so it needs a good cooler and a strong power supply. The chip also has no integrated graphics, so a separate graphics card is needed. It suits a builder who runs demanding software every day and has the room and the power to match.
