Soul Electronics Ultra Wireless Review | 93 Data compared

The Soul Ultra Wireless headphones ($69) are an affordable Bluetooth 5.0 option designed for users seeking intense, heavy bass, offering a comfortable over-ear design with generous padding and a solid 36-hour battery life. They fold down for easy transport and include a nylon drawstring tote. However, their sound signature is highly unbalanced. The lower frequencies drastically overwhelm the mid and high ranges, leaving vocals and instruments sounding muffled, unnatural, and completely devoid of clarity. The primary pros of these headphones are their powerful, distortion-free bass, low price point, long-lasting battery, and comfortable fit for extended wear. Conversely, the cons heavily impact the user experience, starting with the comically over-boosted bass that lacks high-frequency treble presence. Additionally, the built-in microphone provides mediocre, muffled clarity, and the package fails to include a 3.5mm audio cable despite having a headphone jack. The controls are also frustrating, as track navigation shares the volume buttons, making accidental track skipping easy. Given these significant drawbacks, the review awards them a "Fair" 2.5 out of 5 rating.

The Soul Ultra Wireless are budget-friendly, over-ear Bluetooth headphones that retail for $69 and cater specifically to lovers of heavy bass. On the positive side, they feature a highly comfortable, generously padded leatherette design with a foldable frame that makes them easy to stow in their included nylon tote. They also offer an impressive battery life estimated at around 36 hours, stable Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and a palpable, thump-heavy bass response that remains distortion-free even at exceptionally high volumes. However, the headphones suffer from severe audio unbalance, as the comically over-boosted low frequencies almost entirely overpower the high-mid presence and treble clarity. This causes vocals, instruments, and orchestral tracks to sound unnatural, muffled, and muddy. Additional drawbacks include a low-signal microphone that produces muffled voice recordings, the lack of an included 3.5mm audio cable despite having a physical port, and a frustrating control layout that combines volume and track navigation into the same buttons. Because the audio sounds like a low-bitrate sample, the reviewer gives them a mediocre 2.5 "Fair" rating and advises buyers to look at clearer budget alternatives...

The SOUL Ultra Wireless over-ear headphones offer an appealing metallic-blue aesthetic combined with an ergonomic, foldable design and comfortable leatherette padding that prevents ear and temple pressure. Performance-wise, the headphones feature an intuitive button layout for media controls, seamless Bluetooth 5.0 pairing, and strong bass production that handles complex audio tracks and cinematic media with crisp fullness. Its standout feature is an exceptional 36-hour battery life, allowing for multiple days of heavy use at 50% volume without needing a charge. However, the product is held back by a cheap, sloppy unboxing experience that swaps out expected foam cutouts and premium cords for loose plastic bags and an outdated USB-Micro charging cable rather than a modern USB-C connection. Sound quality drops dramatically at the lowest volume clicks, resulting in a sudden loss of all bass and audio blend. Additionally, while video streaming apps sync perfectly, users will notice a prominent audio lag when watching videos on YouTube, and the included thin nylon drawstring carrying case offers little to no physical protection for travel. If you want to look into other audio...

The Soul Ultra Wireless headphones are identified as an affordable, budget-friendly over-ear option featuring a comfortable, heavily padded design with a foldable structure. While the 40mm drivers deliver a powerful, distortion-free sub-bass, the audio profile is described as severely imbalanced, lacking high-mid and high-frequency definition. The review criticizes the sound as muddy, with severely over-boosted bass that masks vocals and details. Additional downsides highlighted include mediocre microphone quality and the lack of a 3.5mm wired option, making them physically comfortable but sonically inadequate. PCMag UK
