What we like about GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 Super Master

  • Superior 4K gaming performance with high frame rates often exceeding 100fps
  • Exceptional thermal management, running significantly cooler than reference models
  • Highly attractive aesthetic featuring a customizable 2-inch LCD Edge screen and ARGB lighting
  • Very quiet operation under load with low reported instances of coil whine
  • Features a robust dual-BIOS system with dedicated 'Silent' and 'OC' modes
  • Significant price reduction compared to the original non-Super RTX 4080 launch
  • Includes a high-quality anti-sag bracket to support its substantial weight
  • Strong support for DLSS 3.5, ray tracing, and AI-accelerated workloads

What we don't like about GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 Super Master

  • Gigantic physical dimensions (nearly 4 slots thick and 357mm long) that require a very large case
  • Performance uplift over the original RTX 4080 is marginal (often only 1-3%)

Verdict

The Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 4080 Super Master is a premium graphics card featuring 10,240 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6X memory on a 256-bit bus, delivering a factory-overclocked boost clock of 2625 MHz. It is equipped with the massive WINDFORCE cooling system—incorporating three 110mm bionic shark fans and a large vapor chamber—as well as a customizable LCD Edge View screen for real-time monitoring or GIFs. Main pros include exceptional thermal performance that keeps the GPU under 60°C under load, a robust 4-year warranty upon registration, and extensive RGB lighting for enthusiasts. However, its massive quad-slot design (357mm length) makes it a difficult fit for many standard cases, and it lacks the latest DisplayPort 2.1 standard found in some competitors.
