Third-party reviews

What we like about Rollei Fly 60

  • Foldable 160 g body is easy to carry
  • About ten minutes per battery
  • Altitude hold helps framing shots
  • Live view through the Fly Air app
  • Sold as a combo by a known photo brand

What we don't like about Rollei Fly 60

  • Only 720p video from a 2 MP camera
  • Very short range of about 40 m
  • No GPS or return-to-home
  • Brushed motors wear faster

Verdict

The Rollei Fly 60 is a foldable beginner camera drone from the German photo brand, sold as a combo for casual flyers. Its 2 MP camera records 720p video and streams a live picture to a phone through the Fly Air app, which is enough for fun clips but not for detailed footage. Each battery is rated for about ten minutes, and altitude hold keeps the drone at a steady height while you frame a shot. At 160 g it is light and easy to carry, and the folding arms make it compact for a bag. The Wi-Fi control range is short at around 40 m, and there is no GPS, so it suits gardens and calm days rather than open fields. Brushed motors keep the cost down. For a simple, well-branded first drone, it is a reasonable choice.
