What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves. Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Score: The average grade is 80% of the review mark; the number of reviews is the other 20% (1 review = 5, the typical number in this category = 8, the most-reviewed model = 10).

What we like about Intel Core i9-10900KF

  • Ten cores and 20 threads handle heavy multitasking and rendering.
  • A boost up to 5.3 GHz speeds up demanding single tasks.
  • The unlocked multiplier lets you tune the clock yourself.
  • 20 MB of L3 cache keeps often used data close to the cores.
  • A Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 9261 shows strong results on heavy work.
  • Memory capacity goes up to 128 GB.

What we don't like about Intel Core i9-10900KF

  • No integrated graphics, so a separate graphics card is required.
  • The 125 W power draw needs a good cooler.
  • No cooler is included in the box.
  • It supports only PCIe 3.0, an older standard.

Verdict

A boost up to 5.3 GHz and ten cores make the Intel Core i9-10900KF a fast desktop chip for people who edit video or run heavy software. Its unlocked multiplier lets you raise the clock yourself, and 20 threads handle many jobs at once. Its Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 9261 shows where it shines. It is a Comet Lake design on 14 nm, and at 125 W it draws plenty of power. No cooler comes in the box, so a good one has to be added. The main limit is the lack of integrated graphics, which means every build needs a separate graphics card. It suits a builder who already has a graphics card picked out and wants a fast chip for heavy creative work.
