Verdict

The Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED is a high-performance wireless gaming mouse featuring the HERO optical sensor, which delivers precise tracking from 200 to 12,000 DPI with 400 IPS speed and 40G acceleration. It utilizes LIGHTSPEED wireless technology for a lag-free 1ms report rate and offers exceptional efficiency, providing up to 250 hours of continuous gameplay on a single AA battery, extendable to 9 months in endurance mode. Key pros include its ultra-lightweight 99g mechanical design, six programmable buttons with onboard memory, and portable compact shape with built-in nano receiver storage. However, some cons include the lack of a rechargeable battery or Bluetooth connectivity, loud mechanical clicks, and a small profile that may not be comfortable for users with larger hands.

What customers like about Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED?

  • Exceptional value for money, offering flagship-level sensor performance at a budget price point
  • Outstanding battery life, lasting up to 250 hours in performance mode and several months in endurance mode on a single AA battery
  • Lag-free 'Lightspeed' wireless connection that is indistinguishable from a wired mouse
  • Highly accurate HERO 12K sensor providing flawless tracking without acceleration or smoothing
  • Small, portable 'egg' shape that is widely praised by claw and fingertip grip users
  • Lightweight design (99g) that can be further reduced to around 80-85g using a AAA battery with a converter
  • Onboard memory allows for saving DPI and button profiles directly to the mouse

What customers dislike about Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED?

  • Basic plastic build can feel cheap compared to premium models
  • Side buttons are often described as having too much travel or feeling 'mushy'
  • Stock mouse feet are sometimes reported as scratchy or low quality on certain surfaces
  • Small size is generally uncomfortable for users with large hands or those who prefer a palm grip
  • Lack of a rechargeable internal battery requires keeping spare AA batteries on hand
  • No RGB lighting, which may be a downside for users who value aesthetics
  • Main clicks can be quite loud, which may be disruptive in quiet environments
  • Potential long-term durability issues, such as the 'double-clicking' bug or scroll wheel failure reported by some users
