Razer Blackwidow V4 TKL Hyperspeed Review | 64 Data compared

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile HyperSpeed is a premium wireless gaming keyboard that stands out for its exceptionally slim 18.5 mm front profile and highly precise laser-cut build quality. Priced around €211, it features double-shot PBT keycaps, an integrated volume roller with dedicated media keys, and seamless multi-device connectivity via 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, or USB-C. Performance-wise, the keyboard offers a notably firm, direct, and short-travel key actuation that provides excellent tactile feedback tailored specifically for high-speed gaming. Additionally, its low-slung ergonomic design allows for comfortable, long-term use without requiring a wrist rest. Despite its strong gaming performance, the keyboard has notable drawbacks, particularly regarding typing comfort and battery efficiency. The rigid, abrupt bottom-out feel of the short-stroke switches makes standard text layout writing a bit jarring and difficult to get used to. Power consumption is another weak point; running the keyboard with full RGB illumination over the 2.4 GHz dongle drains the battery in roughly 6 hours, forcing frequent recharges. Combined with a steep retail price and the fact that a wrist rest is sold separately, the review notes...

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile HyperSpeed (released September 2025) marks the brand's first entry into low-profile mechanical gaming keyboards, measuring just 23 mm thick and starting at €195.90. Available in full-size or TKL layouts, the keyboard features a highly durable aluminium top plate, double-shot PBT keycaps with standard cross-stem compatibility, and two-layer internal foam dampening that eliminates reverberation to deliver a satisfyingly deep acoustic sound. In terms of performance, it supports three connectivity options: Bluetooth, low-latency 2.4-GHz wireless, and wired USB-C. Battery life spans from 36 hours with full RGB lighting at 50% brightness up to 980 hours in power-saving mode. While the keyboard initially launched with a 1,000 Hz polling rate, a recent firmware update combined with the optional Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle elevates it to 4,000 Hz, slashing response times down to 0.25 milliseconds for competitive esports. The keyboard's major pros lie in its exceptional build quality, high stability, pre-lubricated stabilizers, and long-lasting PBT keycaps. Furthermore, its low-profile Orange switches offer a quiet, tactile typing experience with a short 1.6 mm actuation distance and a feather-light 45 g...

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile Tenkeyless HyperSpeed is a compact, ultra-slim gaming keyboard designed specifically for portability and enhanced desktop space. Key advantages highlighted in the review include its robust, high-quality build featuring a stable aluminum top case and durable doubleshot PBT keycaps that prevent finger slipping. It features responsive low-profile mechanical switches—available in both tactile and linear variations—which provide a fast, direct typing experience while keeping hands in a natural position. Furthermore, users benefit from highly flexible connectivity options through HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, or a premium braided, detachable USB-C to USB-A cable, alongside useful hardware additions like a 5-button multifunction dial. On the downside, community feedback reveals notable quality control concerns, particularly regarding key-chattering issues where the hardware or anti-bounce filters fail, causing frustrating, unintended double-letter inputs during typing. Critics also point out Razer's confusing naming convention, which dilutes the brand by creating up to ten highly similar device iterations under the exact same product moniker, complicating the buying process. Additionally, despite the high price tag associated with Razer gear, design features like the aluminum top cover and the...
