The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless (2023) is a premium, tenkeyless gaming keyboard that delivers esports-level performance by utilizing ultra-fast OmniPoint 2.0 adjustable switches with response times as low as 0.2mm. A standout feature is its dual actuation capability, which lets users assign two separate game commands to a single key based on travel depth, such as walking with a light press and sprinting when fully bottomed out. It offers versatile triple connectivity, including wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 5.0, making it exceptionally easy to toggle between multiple computers, like a gaming PC and a MacBook Pro. Additionally, an integrated onboard OLED display paired with a control wheel allows for quick, on-the-fly customisation of settings, macros, and actuation distances without opening any software. Despite its stellar performance, the keyboard has notable drawbacks, primarily its steep flagship price tag of $249.99 / £229 / AU$289.99, which may be difficult to justify for budget-conscious gamers. Configuring the innovative dual actuation feature also proves overcomplicated and non-intuitive, requiring users to jump between three separate non-streamlined pages within the SteelSeries GG Engine software. Finally,...

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless is evaluated as a top-tier peripheral that drastically elevates gaming performance through its elite customisation features. The reviewer heavily praises the OmniPoint 2.0 Adjustable HyperMagnetic switches, which allow users to tweak individual key actuation points from a feather-light 0.1mm to a deep 4.0mm. This customisation, alongside Rapid Trigger Technology, noticeably improves response times and gameplay precision across multiple tested titles like Elden Ring and Path of Exile 2. Furthermore, the keyboard delivers a flawless, lag-free experience via its Quantum 2.0 Dual Wireless technology (offering 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 5.0) and features a durable premium aluminium top plate, a convenient OLED smart display for quick settings adjustments, and up to 40 hours of reliable battery life. Despite its high marks, the review identifies a few specific drawbacks that might deter certain buyers. A major constraint is its steep retail price of around £249.99, making it a hard investment to justify for casual players. From a build and tactile perspective, the lack of traditional tactile switch options will disappoint purists who prefer physical click feedback. Additionally, the...

A major advantage of this keyboard is its lightning-fast response time and incredibly pleasant, clicky typing feel, made even better by rapid on-the-fly macro recording and five savable user profiles. However, a significant drawback is that the premium switches are soldered directly to the body, meaning the board is not hot-swappable for users who like...

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless (2023) is a compact, tenkeyless gaming keyboard highly praised for its exceptionally fast OmniPoint 2.0 magnetic switches. It allows gamers to adjust per-key actuation points from a highly sensitive 0.2mm to 3.8mm, making it incredibly responsive for fast-paced gaming where rapid key presses are required. Notable pros include its simple physical profile switching (holding the logo key and pressing F9), durable PBT keycaps, and a genuinely useful built-in mini OLED screen that cleanly displays custom profile graphics. Additionally, the keyboard boasts solid battery life, retaining roughly 50% of its power after a full week of regular use. However, the keyboard faces steep competition and suffers from a few notable drawbacks, primarily its hefty $250 retail price tag. The wireless functionality commands a massive $60 premium over its identical wired counterpart, making the wired version a much more economical buy. Out of the box, the default five-minute sleep mode timer is overly aggressive and slow to wake up, forcing users to manually disable it in the SteelSeries GG companion app. Finally, productivity users may feel...

The reviewer praised the standout OmniPoint adjustable mechanical switches, noting that their customizable actuation points (ranging from 0.4mm to 3.6mm) eliminate double-typing issues and provide an exceptionally reliable, tailored typing experience. Other visual and physical pros include a useful, customizable top-right information display for monitoring PC temperatures, an attractive aircraft-grade aluminium frame, and an included magnetic wrist rest. Ultimately, the review awards the device an overall score of 8/10, deeming it an excellent, high-performing retail option. However, the keyboard has notable drawbacks, primarily regarding its tethered design and proprietary software. A major con is the fixed cable on this specific model, which permanently occupies two USB ports on the host PC and restricts desktop flexibility. The SteelSeries GG companion software is also heavily criticised as "rough around the edges," specifically due to an early-access Prism application that frequently desyncs and reverts the keyboard's RGB lighting back to default profiles. Additionally, the rubberised material on...
