The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL (2023) is a premium, tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard priced at $189.99 that excels in both gaming performance and daily typing comfort. Built with a hefty 5000-series aluminum top plate and durable double-shot PBT keycaps, it features a small customizable black-and-white OLED screen in the corner to display system metrics, game stats, or custom animations. The keyboard's standout feature is its OmniPoint 2.0 linear switches, which use magnetic hall effect sensors to allow users to customize key actuation from a hyper-responsive 0.1mm to a deep 4.0mm. This advanced technology also enables dual actuation, allowing players to map two distinct actions to a single key based on how far down it is pressed. The review highlights several pros, including incredibly smooth and quiet linear switches, exceptional spacebar stabilization, extensive per-key RGB customization, and a highly functional built-in OLED menu that lets you adjust settings without software. However, the keyboard has notable cons; because of the highly custom magnetic design, the switches are not hot-swappable and cannot be replaced later. Additionally, the included magnetic wrist rest lacks comfort...

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless is a premium, space-saving gaming keyboard that stands out for its high-end customisation and performance. A key highlight is the OmniPoint 2.0 switches, which allow users to adjust the actuation point of individual keys between a highly sensitive 0.1mm and a deep 4.0mm. This flexibility, combined with Rapid Trigger Technology for near-instantaneous responsiveness, provides a distinct competitive edge in fast-paced games like Elden Ring and Path of Exile 2. Furthermore, the keyboard delivers a flawless, lag-free experience via its Quantum 2.0 Dual Wireless connection, offers a strong 40-hour battery life, features a helpful OLED smart display for quick setting adjustments, and integrates seamlessly with SteelSeries GG software for deep RGB and macro profiling. Despite these strengths, the keyboard has a few notable drawbacks. It lacks tactile switch options, which may disappoint users who prefer traditional mechanical keyboard feedback. There is also a slight wobble on certain keys, which mildly compromises overall build consistency. Finally, with a steep price tag of approximately £249.99, it is a substantial financial investment that is highly justified for serious...

The wired SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Mechanical Keyboard is evaluated by reviewer Alex McCumbers as a well-designed, high-performing desktop companion that scores an overall 8/10. The review highlights several notable pros, most significantly the innovative OmniPoint adjustable mechanical switches which utilize analog Hall Effect magnetic sensors to let users fine-tune individual key actuation points from 0.4mm to 3.6mm. This deep customizability prevents double-typing errors and delivers a seamless, reliable typing and gaming experience. Additional design positives include a customisable OLED information window in the top right corner (frequently used by the reviewer to monitor PC temperatures), a convenient magnetic wrist rest, and an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame. However, the hardware does present distinct cons that impacted its final score. A primary drawback is the fixed, non-detachable cable on this particular model, which occupies two USB ports and clutters the workspace. On the software side, the SteelSeries GG program—specifically the early access Prism application used for RGB lighting synchronization—is criticized for being rough around the edges and occasionally desyncing back to default profiles. Minor long-term viability concerns are also noted regarding...

A standout pro highlighted in the review is the inclusion of OmniPoint 2.0 switches, which allow users to fully customise key sensitivity across an impressive range of 0.2mm to 3.8mm. This technology supports highly responsive dual actuation functionality, enabling different actions to trigger based on a light or heavy keypress. Additional benefits include a built-in OLED smart screen display for on-the-fly setting adjustments (which also uniquely features a playable Snake clone called "Snek"), a comfortably compact tenkeyless design that retains vital arrow keys, and a relatively quiet sound profile that fits well within an office environment. The review notes that this precise customization directly translates into a faster, more accurate typing experience for professional writers.

Users can also make on-the-fly adjustments to profiles, macros, and actuation settings directly through a built-in OLED display and control wheel. However, these advanced capabilities come with a few notable drawbacks, primarily a steep flagship price tag of $249.99 / £229 / AU$289.99 that may deter budget-conscious buyers. The initial setup for the dual actuation feature can be overcomplicated and unintuitive, as it requires navigating through three separate pages within the SteelSeries GG Engine software.
