Logitech UE 6000 Review | 93 Data compared

The Logitech UE 6000 headphones feature a sturdy, all-plastic design with soft black leather ear cups and padding that ensure a highly comfortable fit for long listening sessions. The over-ear cups fold up neatly into an included carrying pouch, which also houses a convenient audio splitter for sharing music and a removable 3.5mm cable with fully functional inline controls for Android devices. Sound-wise, they are specifically tuned to make modern pop, hip-hop, and R&B tracks sound great, boasting tight, prominent bass alongside boosted highs that keep vocals and treble clear. However, these headphones fall short for audiophiles or fans of jazz and classical music, as the mid-range frequencies get lost and instrumentals like guitars can take a back seat to the drums and bass. A major drawback is the active noise cancellation feature; while it does lower outside sounds, it introduces a highly distracting background hiss that is prominent during quiet moments or track changes. Additionally, the glossy plastic on the outside of the ear cups easily collects unsightly fingerprints. Ultimately, at a price of $119, the review notes they...

The TechHive review highlights the Logitech UE 4000 as a stylish, budget-friendly on-ear option under $100. Its main strengths are a clean, lightweight plastic design, smooth mid-range tones, distortion-free low notes, and comfortable ear cushions that facilitate long listening sessions. It also includes handy accessories like a detachable cable and a music splitter. However, the headphone suffers from overly boosted bass that overwhelms the treble, thin microphone quality, closely spaced remote buttons, and a rigid frame that cannot fold or collapse for travel. The larger Logitech UE 6000 retails for $200 and brings over-ear comfort alongside active noise-cancelation (ANC). Pros include a sturdy metal headband, folding hinges for better portability, premium plush earpads, and the ability to play music passively even if the AAA batteries die. Crucially, its ANC circuitry acts as a sound enhancer that expands the dynamic range and livens up the tracks. On the downside, the noise cancelation itself is weak and unaggressive compared to competitors like Bose, the shiny plastic exterior attracts fingerprints, and—just like its smaller sibling—the massively heavy bass bleeds heavily into the mid-range,...

The Logitech UE 6000 over-ear headphones earn a 3.5 "Good" rating from PCMag Australia for delivering a modern design and bass-heavy audio performance at a $199.99 price point. The futuristic look features severe headband angles and comfortable memory foam earcups highlighted by electric blue accents. On the performance side, the headphones deliver powerful, distortion-free thumps and crisp highs that favor modern pop, rock, and hip-hop mixes. However, this sculpted, bass-oriented sound profile suffers from a scooped-out midrange, making instrumental and classical tracks sound unnatural to audiophiles who prefer a flatter response. The product boasts several core strengths, including the ability to output audio passively when noise cancellation is off, built-in iPhone controls, and a highly valuable removable cable. The passive mode effectively ensures your music never stops, even though the audio is slightly less powerful than in active mode. On the downside, the active noise cancellation is modest at best, failing to match top competitors like the Bose QuietComfort series and adding a slight audible hiss to the background. Furthermore, the circuitry relies on two AAA batteries instead of a...

The Logitech UE 6000Go over-ear headphones deliver a lively, highly satisfying audio performance for their $199 price tag, featuring a "smile" curve sound profile with powerful bass and crisp highs. Key design pros highlighted by Laptop Mag include lush, well-padded ear cups that provide a very comfortable fit, a sleek aesthetic complete with tasteful blue accents, and an iPhone-compatible inline mic and controller. Additionally, the headphones come with premium extras like a zippered neoprene carrying pouch and a audio-sharing splitter. Crucially, the audio continues to play normally even if the active noise cancellation (ANC) batteries die, which is a massive functional advantage over pricier competitors like the Bose QC15. However, the headphones do come with several notable cons, particularly regarding weight, isolation, and overall bulk. Because they require two AAA batteries rather than one, the UE 6000 is somewhat heavy at 9.7 ounces, making them prone to jiggling around during vigorous head movements. Furthermore, the active noise cancellation circuitry is quite subtle; it successfully filters low-frequency ambient sounds like air conditioners, but it does very little to block out higher-frequency...

The Logitech Ultimate Ears 6000 is an over-ear, closed-back headphone that introduces active noise cancellation (ANC) to the enthusiast-grade Ultimate Ears brand for a reasonable price of $189.94. On the positive side, it features an excellent, sturdy build quality with a highly flexible headband that comfortably accommodates larger heads and glasses wearers. The memory foam headband and ear cushions provide deep immediate comfort, while the inline iOS-compatible controls and folding design make it highly versatile for travel. In terms of audio performance, the custom 40mm drivers deliver high-quality sound with warm mids, clean highs, and a punchy yet well-controlled bass line that remains tight rather than muddy. However, the headphones suffer from several distinct drawbacks, particularly regarding the active noise cancellation. Turning on the ANC introduces an undeniable and annoying background hiss that disrupts critical listening, and it forces aggressive "smiley face" audio processing that unnaturally boosts the treble and bass while narrowing the soundstage. Additionally, the noise cancellation is only decent at blocking continuous low-frequency hums but struggles to stop sudden ambient sounds like people talking. Physical flaws include...

The Sound & Vision review highlights that the Logitech UE 9000, 6000, and 900 headphones deliver impressive midrange and treble, but struggle with overemphasized bass and flawed noise cancellation, particularly in the UE 9000 and 6000. While the UE 9000 offers style and comfort, the UE 6000 is considered a better value, providing superior sound in passive mode despite both suffering from bloated low-end issues when noise cancellation is active. The UE 900 in-ears offer detailed sound and extensive accessories, though their bass can still overpower the mids and treble.

The Witchdoctor review of the Logitech UE 6000 headphones highlights a studio-monitor-style design with remarkable bass performance, maintaining weighted impact at high volumes without compromising sound quality. The headphones feature a robust, foldable structure with durable metal hinges, along with a warm, non-fatiguing sound profile and 40-hour battery life for active noise cancellation. While providing excellent audio, the review notes a reliance on plastic for the outer construction and the use of disposable AAA batteries for the active features. Despite these minor drawbacks, the UE 6000 is praised for delivering high-end sound and clear audio performance, making them an excellent choice for users looking for durable, active-noise-cancelling headphones.

The UE 9000 ($400) is the more advanced, wireless sibling, utilizing Bluetooth with apt-X and AAC support for a 50-foot range. It shares the same 40mm driver size but offers superior 14dB noise isolation and a unique "Listen Through" button to mute audio for quick conversations. Pros include its exceptional sound immersion, a durable hard-shell molded case, and the ability to work via a wired connection when the 10-hour wireless battery dies. On the downside, the UE 9000 is significantly bulkier because it does not fold like the 6000—its earpieces only rotate flat—and it carries a much higher price tag.

In his Stereophile review, Tyll Hertsens highlights that both the Logitech UE6000Go and UE9000Go offer "very, very good," clean sound in passive mode, but suffer from forced, heavy bass when active noise cancellation is engaged. While the noise cancellation is only moderately effective compared to competitors, the UE9000 is lauded as the best-sounding Bluetooth headset tested at the time, featuring excellent, consistent performance in wireless mode. Despite being bulky and expensive, the UE9000 earns a "Wall of Fame" spot for its high-fidelity wire-free performance.

The Logitech UE 6000 over-ear headphones are a stylish, futuristic, and bass-heavy audio option priced at $199.99 direct. Designed with distinct sharp angles, memory foam earcups, and electric blue accents, these wired headphones feature a removable audio cable with built-in iPhone controls and a microphone. The audio profile heavily emphasizes deep frequencies, producing powerful, resonant bass that remains entirely free of distortion even at maximum volumes. However, this sculpted, "scooped out" mid-range signature causes classical and jazz music to sound somewhat unnatural and weighted down. Several specific pros and cons define the day-to-day usability of the device. On the positive side (pros), the headphones offer strong, distortion-free sound quality at high volumes, a removable cable that provides extra value by allowing easy replacement, integrated iPhone controls, and the ability to output music in passive mode when the power is turned off. On the negative side (cons), the intense, enhanced bass response will not appeal to audiophiles looking for a flat, accurate frequency response. Additionally, the active noise cancellation circuitry is mediocre, failing to match top-tier competitors like Bose and adding...
