The JBL Club 950NC headphones, reviewed on Head-Fi, are praised for their comfortable design, including plush pads and a good weight, along with excellent battery life and USB-C charging. Performance is highlighted by a fun, well-implemented bass boost and a functional app-based equalizer that adds value without gimmicks. Head-Fi.orgHowever, the consumer-focused tuning falls short of audiophile standards, and the, controls are noted as complex and confusing to navigate. Additional drawbacks include a weak built-in microphone, significant heat buildup around the ears, and a useless, large button on the left ear cup. Head-Fi.

The JBL CLUB 950NC headphones, priced around $200, offer a feature-rich experience inspired by global DJs. On the positive side, these headphones provide exceptional audio versatility with a fun, lively presentation and massive 55-hour battery life (without active noise cancellation). Users can deeply customize their sound profile through a companion app featuring DJ-designed parametric EQ presets, and easily toggle a dedicated bass boost button right on the right earcup. Additional pros include strong adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), convenient ambient awareness modes (Ambient Aware and TalkThru), reliable multi-device Bluetooth pairing, integrated smart voice assistants (Alexa and Google Assistant), and a dual-microphone setup that delivers clean call quality. Despite these impressive features, the review notes several design and hardware drawbacks. A primary con is that these advanced headphones are not particularly lightweight, meaning the added weight and continuous pressure can feel heavy and overwhelming during long listening sessions. Performance-wise, the built-in bass boost feature can sometimes feel a bit too extreme and intense, which may muddy the overall audio profile for purists. Finally, the headset lacks support for advanced high-resolution Bluetooth...

The JBL Club 950NC headphones, reviewed by Nick Forrester on FutureFive New Zealand, are a solid mid-range option priced at NZ$430 that earn a final score of 7/10. The review highlights several strong pros, starting with a "clean," well-rounded, and powerful sound quality that does not compromise or turn tinny even at maximum volume limits. Standout features include a highly effective onboard bass booster button for action blockbusters or music, highly customizable genre presets and custom EQ settings via the JBL Headphones app, and a robust battery life delivering 20 to 22 hours of continuous playback with active noise cancelling (ANC) enabled. Additionally, the quick-charging capability is highly convenient, offering two hours of playtime from a brief 15-minute charge, while the Smart Ambient mode allows users to seamlessly toggle between "Ambient Aware" and "Talk Thru" options to remain aware of their physical surroundings. However, the review outlines several prominent cons regarding the design and performance. Forrester notes that the headphones have a bulky, heavy, and cumbersome build that creates an "unmistakable heftiness" on the head, making them uncomfortable during consecutive...

The JBL Club 950NC wireless over-ear headphones deliver highly impressive audio performance and active noise-cancelling (ANC) capabilities for their mid-tier price point of A$399. Out of the box, the headphones offer a well-balanced, open, and energetic stock EQ that easily handles diverse genres from rock to soul without distorting at higher volumes. Furthermore, its reliable dual-mic setup ensures clear call quality, and the companion smartphone app grants users comprehensive control over EQ adjustments, "Talk Thru", and "Ambient Aware" modes. Battery life is another major highlight, capable of reaching up to 55 hours with ANC deactivated. However, the headphones suffer from design flaws that compromise daily usability, notably their heavy 372g build, thick plastic earpads, and an uncomfortably tight headband clamp that causes physical strain during long listening sessions. The onboard controls are problematic, using frustrating multi-use volume buttons that make it easy to accidentally skip tracks or episodes when trying to change the volume. Additionally, the headline "Bass Boost" button fails to impress; rather than elevating the listening environment, it overshoots the lower frequencies and results in a muddy, unbalanced...

The JBL Club 950NC are described as capable, mid-range wireless over-ear headphones that deliver solid performance across the board without truly excelling in any single category. They feature a sturdy build with durable metal hinges and a sleek, professional aesthetic. The audio quality is characterized by an enjoyable sound profile that offers a pleasing mix of detail and punchy bass, further supported by a useful companion app for EQ customization. Additionally, the active noise cancellation (ANC) is decent, effectively cutting out low-frequency sounds like office chatter or household appliances. Despite these strengths, the headphones have several drawbacks that prevent them from reaching top-tier status. While they boast an impressive 55-hour battery life, this figure drops significantly to 22 hours with ANC enabled, trailing behind key competitors like Sony. Comfort is a notable concern; at 375g, they are relatively heavy and lack the plush padding found on rival models, making them less ideal for long-term wear. Furthermore, the dedicated Bass Boost mode tends to make the audio sound "muddy," and users may notice an irritating audible crackle from the ANC microphones...

The JBL Club 950NC headphones are robust, portable, over-ear Bluetooth headphones built for durability with solid metal folding hinges and easily replaceable magnetic earpads. They offer an exceptional battery life of over 46 hours under normal usage, which drops to a still-respectable 24 hours when active noise cancellation (ANC) is turned on. Additionally, they feature a remarkably fast quick-charge capability that provides over 10 hours of runtime from just a 15-minute charge via USB-C. On the functional side, the headphones integrate seamlessly with Google Assistant through a dedicated left earcup action button and feature convenient TalkThru and Ambient Aware modes to balance music with environmental awareness. Sound-wise, they deliver a clear, universal audio profile with a warm midrange, crisp highs, and a compact, well-defined bass foundation that can be fine-tuned via the free JBL Headphones App. Despite these strengths, the Club 950NC suffers from notable performance flaws, particularly its limited Bluetooth 5.0 range of only seven to eight meters, which is prone to frequent audio dropouts during movement. Audiophiles may also find the lack of high-quality audio codecs disappointing, as...

The JBL Club 950NC are over-ear, wireless noise-cancelling headphones inspired by superstar DJs, offering a solid build and a lively, fun-loving audio presentation that excels with upbeat tracks. Standard, out-of-the-box audio delivers a clean, open, and spacious soundstage with plenty of headroom for various genres. Key technical features include an Adaptive Noise Cancelling system that efficiently cuts background noise, customizable EQ presets via the companion app, and dedicated Smart Ambient modes like TalkThru and Ambient Aware. Furthermore, the battery life is highly impressive, yielding up to 55 hours over Bluetooth alone and 22 hours with both Bluetooth and active noise cancellation enabled. However, the headphones face stiff competition and fall short of the refinement offered by class leaders. On the positive side (pros), they provide a solid, punchy bass, a clear soundstage, and effective noise cancellation. On the downside (cons), they lack the dynamic subtlety and tonal finesse of rivals like Sony and Dali, making the music less emotionally engaging. Additionally, they are physically heavy at 372g, and both the earpads and headband are not well padded, which can cause...

The JBL Club 950NC headphones offer powerful audio with strong, adjustable bass, crisp highs, and a highly customizable in-app EQ, paired with a comfortable over-ear design. They provide effective active noise cancellation for the price, along with ambient listening modes, voice assistant support, and useful app-based DJ presets. However, the sound signature is heavily sculpted rather than neutral, and the dedicated Bass Boost button creates an overly intense low-midrange overload rather than clean sub-bass. Additionally, while effective on low drones, the ANC struggles with higher frequencies and introduces a subtle, audible hiss.

The JBL CLUB 950NC Wireless are durable and comfortable over-ear headphones featuring a well-balanced sound profile suitable for various audio genres. They offer a companion app with parametric EQ for customization, alongside physical control buttons and a wired option for calls. However, the headphones are hindered by a subpar active noise cancelling (ANC) system that struggles with low-frequency sounds and voices. Furthermore, they underperform in call quality and noise isolation when compared to competitors like the Sony WH-1000XM3 and Bose QuietComfort 35 II.
