It is built from durable materials and features an adjustable headband with a padded centre, alongside soft over-ear earpads that fully cup the ears for all-day comfort, even for users who wear glasses. Pros include its supreme comfort, low weight, glasses-friendly ergonomics, and stable Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity that supports multipoint pairing for two devices simultaneously. On the downside, cons include the physical control layout being limited entirely to buttons on the right earpad and the lack of an included charging power adapter in the box.

The Edifier W830NB headphones review by Julian Perry on The Gadgeteer presents these sub-$100 wireless headphones as an exceptional value, ultimately earning the top spot in the reviewer's budget lineup. Priced at $79.99, the device stands out for its lightweight, well-built plastic construction, foldable design, and remarkable comfort during extended listening sessions. Performance highlights include high-res audio certifications, an astonishing battery life of approximately 94 hours with ANC turned off, and seamless multipoint connectivity for switching between two devices simultaneously. Furthermore, the sound profile is rich and well-balanced across all frequencies, particularly when utilizing the "Heavy Bass" option via the EDIFIER ConneX app. Despite the high praise, the reviewer notes a few specific drawbacks that need improvement. While the hybrid active noise cancellation claims an isolation depth of up to -45dB, it is criticized as not being the best available within this specific price bracket. Additionally, the overall bass response, though generally good, lacks the ability to punch into the lowest sub-bass frequencies. Finally, despite their highly portable and foldable structure, the headphones do not include a protective carrying case...

The Edifier W830NB is an affordable over-ear wireless headset that excels in comfort and battery life, making it highly suitable for daily commutes and gym sessions. Weighing approximately 280 grams, the lightweight design features well-padded memory foam ear cups and a balanced clamping force that provides a secure yet comfortable fit. Its standout feature is an exceptional battery performance, delivering up to 94 hours of continuous playback with ANC turned off and around 45 hours when active noise cancellation is enabled. In terms of audio, the headphones feature a V-shaped sound signature driven by 40mm dynamic drivers, providing a deep, punchy bass and bright, detailed treble tailored well for pop, EDM, and hip-hop music. Despite these strengths, the review notes several design and technical drawbacks. The primarily plastic construction functions well but fails to deliver a premium feel, and the ear cups may feel snug for users with larger ears. Sound-wise, the V-shaped profile means the midrange frequencies are recessed, occasionally causing vocals and instruments to feel overshadowed by the low and high frequencies. Additionally, while the active noise cancellation...

The Edifier W830NB headphones, reviewed by Major HiFi, deliver exceptional value, highlighted by a massive 94-hour battery life and advanced features like Bluetooth 5.4 and LDAC support. They feature 40mm drivers, hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with four modes, and a companion app for custom EQ and spatial audio. While offering solid, loud sound and good functionality, the review notes the default sound profile may require EQ adjustment and the ANC, though strong for its price, does not completely eliminate all ambient noise.

Performance and Technical Overview The Edifier W830NB is a budget-friendly wireless Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphone priced around $79, featuring 40mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 5.4, and a companion app with a 4-band Parametric Equalizer (PEQ). In laboratory testing, the headphones demonstrated an unconventional frequency response characterized by severe peaks and dips in the treble region, alongside slight peaking in the bass and 1 to 2 kHz ranges. This irregular treble profile causes the overall tonality to be highly dependent on the audio source material, making it sound "wooly" or overly bright depending on the track. Furthermore, the maximum output volume is somewhat restricted, reaching a peak of only 104 dBSPL during testing. Pros, Cons, and Final Verdict The primary advantages of the W830NB are its exceptional value, robust battery life—offering up to 94 hours with active noise cancelling (ANC) turned off and 54 hours with it on—and its premium look and feel. Subjective testing revealed excellent mechanical noise isolation paired with highly effective ANC that nearly silences ambient sound. Additionally, it functions smoothly as a DAC when connected via a USB-C cable....

The Edifier W830NB are lightweight, foldable, budget-conscious over-ear headphones featuring a comfortable fit with well-padded earcups suitable for long commutes. They boast exceptional battery life (up to 94 hours with ANC off), though the plastic build can feel cheap, with potential creaking and a lack of a protective case. While delivering impressive, customizable ANC and high-resolution sound via LDAC, they can suffer from background hiss in ambient mode and occasional music stuttering. Overall, the headphones offer strong value with multipoint connectivity and a low-latency gaming mode, making them a, solid choice despite some minor design trade-offs.

The Edifier W830NB Over-Ear Headphones review by Steve Crabtree on Yorkshire Magazine highlights them as an exceptional, premium-performing choice within their budget price bracket of £79.99. The core pros emphasized in the review include their stunning grey aesthetics, lightweight design, and soft ear pads that ensure all-day comfort without causing "tired ears". In terms of performance, the headphones boast unrivaled battery longevity, delivering up to 96 hours of playback on a 1.5-hour charge, alongside a quick-charge feature giving 10 hours of use from just 15 minutes of power. Audio quality is highly praised for its deep, rich sound range—adeptly capturing everything from punchy bass to high-pitched vocals—which is further enhanced through customizable equalizer controls via the companion app. Additionally, the -45dB hybrid digital noise-cancelling technology effectively isolates background commuter noise, while dual-device connectivity makes it easy to switch seamlessly between phone calls and laptop work. Conversely, the review mentions a few notable cons regarding the physical build and accessories. The initial unboxing revealed that the headphones feel quite lightweight and structurally delicate, initially making the reviewer think they would need...

The Edifier W830NB Wireless Over-Ear Headphones provide an excellent balance of audio performance and advanced features for a budget-friendly price of £79.99. Standout positive features include an exceptional battery life that lasts up to 94 hours with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned off, or roughly 54 hours with ANC enabled. The headphones deliver high-resolution audio quality using 40mm dynamic drivers and support the high-definition LDAC codec, revealing crisp track details with zero streaming lag. They also boast a lightweight, 267g ergonomic design that fits comfortably even over glasses, a highly reliable wind-reduction mode, a low-latency gaming mode, and multipoint Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity for swapping audio between two separate devices. Despite a perfect five-star rating, the review highlights a couple of minor omissions and limitations to consider. On the downside, the product does not include a physical power adapter in the box, providing only the necessary USB-C charging cable. Additionally, unlocking the full capabilities of the headphones—such as toggling specialized modes, utilizing the locator beacon, or customizing the preset EQ settings—requires users to download and use the external Edifier ConneX companion...

The Edifier W830NB over-ear wireless headphones offer a well-built design and impressive audio performance for under £100. On the positive side, they feature a durable plastic construction reinforced by a premium metal adjustable headband mechanism. The top of the headband is comfortably padded, and the headphones boast an astonishing 96-hour battery life with dual-device Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and low latency for gaming. Audio delivery stands out for its wide soundstage, powerful volume without distortion, and punchy bass that enhances acoustic tracks and podcasts. Furthermore, active noise cancellation (ANC) is highly effective at minimizing general external ambient sounds. However, the headphones have notable drawbacks regarding ergonomics and long-term comfort. The ear cup padding is relatively thin, causing noticeable discomfort after about two hours of continuous wear. Users will also struggle with the poorly designed layout on the right ear cup, where identical volume controls tightly flank the play/pause button, making them difficult to distinguish by touch. Additionally, the ambient sound mode provides limited utility because it fails to properly amplify external voices unless the music is fully paused. High frequencies can...

The Edifier W830NB over-ear headphones deliver exceptional value for a budget-friendly retail price of approximately $80 (£60). The reviewer notes that they feature a premium look and feel with highly flexible adjustability, rotating earcups, and thick, comfortable cushions suitable for multiple hours of continuous wear. In terms of sound performance, the default audio profile is well-balanced with clear vocals, defined instrument separation, and punchy yet non-overpowering bass, which can be further enhanced using custom profiles like the "Rock EQ" via the companion Edifier app. Additionally, the active noise cancellation (ANC) performs impressively for the price point, offering customizable levels from high isolation to an ambient sound mode, alongside reliable call quality driven by built-in AI noise-canceling microphones. The major pros highlighted in the review include their highly competitive pricing, multi-point Bluetooth pairing for simultaneous device connection, a vast advertised battery life of up to 94 hours with ANC off (and 54 hours with ANC on), and extensive app customization options for EQs and sound modes. However, the product has a few notable cons, primarily the complete omission of a protective...

The Edifier W830NB is a pair of wireless over-ear headphones that offers great value for around €70, making them perfect for people on the move. On the positive side, these headphones provide a highly comfortable fit, a sleek minimalist design, and solid sound quality, especially when using the Spatial Audio setting. They also feature impressive active noise cancellation (ANC) that reliably blocks out deep ambient sounds, like computer fans. A huge standout feature is the incredible battery life, which lasts up to 94 hours without ANC, and a quick 15-minute charge gives you an extra 10 hours of playback. Additionally, they support Bluetooth 5.4, multi-device connection, and lossless HD audio via the LDAC codec. However, the headphones have a few notable drawbacks that affect the overall experience. The physical build feels cheap and rickety because Edifier used a lot of plastic in the joints instead of sturdy metal. While the audio quality is generally good, the custom equalizer in the required Connex smartphone app makes barely any difference to the sound, and the 3D effect of the Spatial Audio is...

The Edifier W830NB wireless over-ear headphones are an incremental yet impressive upgrade over the previous W820NB Plus, delivering strong mid-range active noise cancellation (ANC) functionality at an affordable price point. Operating on upgraded Bluetooth 5.4, these headphones expand codec support to include LDAC, AAC, and SBC, while migrating to the newer Edifier ConneX app for custom equalization and touch control configuration. The physical design remains lightweight at 267 grams due to its matte plastic construction, featuring memory foam ear cups and a foldable structure for convenient portability. Sound quality is consumer-friendly with a robust, well-defined bass response, distinct midrange vocals, and a smooth treble that avoids harshness, which opens up further when utilizing high-resolution LDAC playback. A major highlight of the W830NB is its exceptional battery life, which significantly outperforms competitors by lasting approximately 94 hours with ANC off and 54 hours with ANC enabled. The hybrid digital ANC system provides strong value by attenuating low-frequency drones up to -45dB and offering specialized modes like Wind Noise Reduction and Ambient Sound. However, the review notes a few key drawbacks, such...

The Edifier W830NB headphonesGo offer high functionality at a budget price, featuring Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connectivity and a convenient, foldable design for portability. While providing a wired listening option via USB-C, they notably lack a traditional 3.5mm jack. Audio performance is marked by crisp, detailed mids and highs, ideal for vocals, but suffers from a thin, unnatural sound profile that lacks bass impact compared to competitors. Raising the volume can make the upper frequencies harsh. The physical controls are well-designed and tactile, but the ambient sound mode fails to effectively increase awareness during music playback. Additionally, the package lacks a protective carrying case.

The Edifier W830NB Wireless Headphones review highlights a minimalist, sleek design featuring thick, squishy padding on both the headband and the earcups for standard comfort. Key pros include an outstanding, crystal-clear audio quality that maintains clarity without distortion even at maximum volumes, as well as powerful hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) capable of reducing up to -45dB of environmental sound. Usability is also a major positive; pairing via Bluetooth 5.4 is described as highly stable and energy-efficient, and the onboard control buttons allow users to easily toggle volume, pause tracks, and skip songs without looking at their phone. Furthermore, the headphones deliver exceptional longevity, providing between 54 and 94 hours of continuous playback on a 1.5-hour USB-C charge.
