Third-party reviews

Based on 4 buyer reviews from online shops.
Reviews last updated: July 2026 · How we calculate this

What we like about Panasonic LUMIX DMC G10

  • Extremely fast and responsive autofocus and startup time
  • Excellent build quality with a tactile, easy-to-grip rubberized body
  • Intuitive ergonomics with plenty of direct-access buttons and dials
  • Lightweight and compact design compared to standard DSLRs
  • Effective Intelligent Auto (iA) mode for beginners
  • Compatibility with a wide range of Micro Four Thirds lenses

What we don't like about Panasonic LUMIX DMC G10

  • Low-resolution and small electronic viewfinder (EVF)
  • Fixed LCD screen lacks the vari-angle swivel found on the G2 model
  • Significant image noise at higher ISO settings (above 800)
  • Video limited to 720p with mono audio and no external mic jack
  • Aggressive noise reduction in JPEGs can smear fine details
  • No dedicated movie record button
  • Manual switching required between EVF and LCD (no eye sensor)

Verdict

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 is an entry-level mirrorless interchangeable lens camera featuring a 12.1-megapixel Live MOS Four Thirds sensor and the Venus Engine HD II processor. Key specifications include an ISO range of 100–6400, a 3.0-inch 460k-dot fixed LCD, and 720p HD video recording at 30fps in Motion JPEG format. It is notable for its lightweight, compact design and fast contrast-detect autofocus system that rivals many entry-level DSLRs. Main pros include its intuitive control layout with physical dials for manual adjustments, high-speed performance, and excellent image clarity at low ISO settings. However, it has some notable cons, such as a low-resolution 202k-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) that lacks an automatic eye sensor, significant image noise at high ISO sensitivities above 800, and a lack of a dedicated video record button or external microphone jack.
