What we don't like about Teclast M40s 4G (4GB + 128GB)

  • Inconsistent battery performance; some users report rapid drain while others find it adequate
  • Cameras are generally low quality and not suitable for photography beyond basic record-keeping
  • Charging speed can be slow, taking 3-4 hours for a full charge
  • Accelerometer can be laggy, causing slow screen orientation changes
  • Lack of regular software or security updates from the manufacturer
  • Potential build quality issues, such as screen protector air bubbles or fragile ports

Verdict

The Teclast M40s 4G is a budget-friendly 10.1-inch tablet featuring a 1920x1200 Full HD IPS display and a slim 7.8mm metal body. It is powered by a Unisoc T610 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD. Key characteristics include dual-SIM 4G LTE support, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a 6,000mAh battery with USB-C charging. Main pros are its lightweight, portable design at just 430g, high-resolution screen for video playback, and responsive multitasking for daily tasks. However, notable cons include lack of Widevine L1 certification (limiting streaming to SD on many platforms), mediocre camera quality with a 5MP rear lens lacking a flash, and relatively slow charging speeds.
