What we like about ZTE Watch GT

  • Excellent battery life, with some users reporting up to 15 days on a single charge.
  • High-quality 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 454 x 454 resolution.
  • Lightweight and comfortable build, weighing approximately 30g.
  • Comprehensive health tracking features, including SpO2 (blood oxygen) and heart rate monitoring.
  • Built-in GPS and 5ATM water resistance up to 50 metres.
  • Affordable price point compared to similar smartwatches.

What we don't like about ZTE Watch GT

  • Very limited software ecosystem with no ability to install third-party applications.
  • Reported issues with audio and headphone connectivity.
  • Large bezels that some users feel waste screen real estate.
  • Basic notification support that may feel uninspiring or 'locked' in the global version.
  • Manual brightness adjustments required due to the lack of an automatic light sensor.

Verdict

The ZTE Watch GT is a lightweight sports smartwatch featuring a 1.39-inch round AMOLED display with a 454 x 454 resolution (326 ppi) and a durable aluminum alloy body weighing just 30 grams. Key characteristics include 5ATM water resistance, a built-in multi-mode GPS system, and 24-hour health monitoring for heart rate, SpO2 blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality. Its main pros are an impressive 420mAh battery providing up to 15 days of normal use (extending to 23 days in power-save mode) and a specialized 'football mode' that generates heatmaps of a player's field position. Notable cons include its limited selection of only 16 sports modes compared to rivals, lack of iOS compatibility in some regions, and reports of occasional tracking inaccuracies for sleep and heart rate data.
