Verdict

The Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR300 is an AC1750 dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router powered by a 1.0GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, and 128MB flash memory. It delivers wireless speeds up to 1750Mbps (450Mbps on 2.4GHz and 1300Mbps on 5GHz) and features four Gigabit LAN ports, one Gigabit WAN port, and a front-facing USB 3.0 port. Its main strength lies in the DumaOS software, which includes a pro-gaming dashboard, Geo-Filtering to reduce lag by limiting distance to servers, and advanced Quality of Service (QoS) for device prioritization. While it offers excellent gaming-specific optimizations and a user-friendly setup, its cons include a bulky design that takes up significant shelf space and relatively slow USB transfer performance compared to newer high-end models.
