What it is
Our main score for this model, 1–10. It combines specs, expert reviews, best-of lists, owners and ratings from across the web.
How we count it
Parts: Technical score 40%, Reviews score 25%, List score 15%, Sentiment score 10%, User score 10%
Marks: Each part gets a mark out of 10. For reviews, lists and owners, a typical model in this category gets about 8 and the best one gets 10.
No data yet: A part with no data shows "?". It counts as the mark of a weaker model in this category (4 in 5 models with data score higher). This way, models with reviews, lists and owners usually come out ahead.

What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves. Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Score: The average grade is 80% of the review mark; the number of reviews is the other 20% (1 review = 5, the typical number in this category = 8, the most-reviewed model = 10).
Enough data: With few reviews, the average grade is pulled toward the typical grade of this category. No reviews yet: 7.2 for now.

What we like about AMD Ryzen 5 5600XT

  • Six cores and twelve threads handle games and multitasking together.
  • A PassMark multi-core score of 22258 shows strong results when many tasks run at once.
  • Boost up to 4.7 GHz keeps everyday tasks feeling quick.
  • 32 MB of L3 cache gives each core 5.3 MB.
  • 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes leave room for a graphics card and fast storage together.
  • A cooler is included in the box.

What we don't like about AMD Ryzen 5 5600XT

  • There is no integrated graphics, so a separate graphics card is required.
  • Turbo Boost is missing, so the chip does not use that extra boost feature.
  • Memory is limited to DDR4 at 3200 MHz.
  • Boost power of 88 W asks more of the power supply and case cooling.
  • Two memory channels cap memory bandwidth at 51.2 GB/s.

Verdict

Six cores and twelve threads make the AMD Ryzen 5 5600XT a strong budget choice for a home PC that handles games, office work and video editing. It scores 22258 in the PassMark multi-core test, and its Geekbench 6 single-core score of 2330 is high too. The 32 MB of L3 cache gives every core 5.3 MB to work with, which helps in games. Its 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes leave room for a graphics card and fast storage at the same time. A cooler is in the box, so no extra purchase is needed. The trade-off is that there is no integrated graphics, so a separate graphics card is needed from day one. Memory is DDR4 only, with a top speed of 3200 MHz. It suits a first gaming PC on a tight budget.
