The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless is a versatile 96% mechanical keyboard designed for both gaming and typing. Retailing for around $180, it features a sturdy metal and plastic frame, pre-lubed linear NX Snow switches, customizable hot-swappable keys, and a magnetic wrist rest. A major highlight of the keyboard is its exceptional wireless battery life, reaching up to 1,500 hours on a 2.4GHz connection and 1,750 hours via Bluetooth with the RGB lighting turned off. Even with the RGB activated, it delivers a solid 90 to 110 hours of usage. Additional user-friendly pros include a built-in scroll wheel, dedicated status indicators, a quick shortcut (FN + minus) to check battery levels via the illuminated number row, and a unified Omni Receiver that pairs both an ROG mouse and the keyboard to a single USB port. Despite its high build quality and relatively silent operation, the keyboard's unique form factor introduces a few notable cons. The layout sits in an awkward middle ground between full-sized and compact, failing to clear significant desk space while simultaneously disrupting established muscle memory....

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless, rated 4 out of 5 stars by Digital Citizen, is a high-end, compact keyboard offering robust build quality and exceptional responsiveness for gaming and typing. Key pros highlighted include the space-saving 96% layout that retains a numpad and a hot-swappable PCB for customization. However, the review notes that the tightly packed, compressed layout requires a significant learning curve for users accustomed to standard keyboards. While offering stellar performance, this design compromise means the layout may not suit all users.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96, reviewed by MMORPG.com, is a $180, 96% layout wireless keyboard that offers a near-full-size experience with excellent typing feel, premium sound-dampening, and long-lasting 2.4 GHz performance. While praised for its space-saving design, the review notes the tightly packed layout can feel cramped and it lacks advanced features like optical switches or custom actuation points. Cons include limited customization options, with restricted, non-reprogrammable Fn layer functions compared to some competitors. Despite this, the board is highly regarded for its build quality and elite wireless performance.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless is a highly praised 96% compact gaming keyboard that successfully retains the 10-key number pad while matching the footprint of a standard tenkeyless layout. The reviewer, traditionally a fan of tactile switches, was deeply impressed by the pre-lubed ROG NX-Snow linear switches, describing them as exceptionally smooth, quiet, and superior to any other linear switch they had previously tested. Key pros highlighted in the review include its rock-solid build quality, versatile tri-mode connectivity (Bluetooth 5.1, 2.4GHz RF, and wired USB-C), hot-swappable switch capability (supporting 3-pin and 5-pin switches), and effective internal silicone and foam dampening. Additionally, the inclusion of a programmable multifunction button and dial, a magnetic wrist rest, and the ability to save six custom profiles directly onto the keyboard's onboard memory add substantial value for both gamers and productivity users. Despite the overwhelming praise, the review points out several notable drawbacks. The North American model's PBT doubleshot keycaps feature a polarizing, difficult-to-read font that requires the RGB backlighting to be turned up to at least 50% brightness to remain legible...

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II and Strix Scope II RX are highlighted as premium, full-sized gaming keyboards featuring superior build quality, comfortable ergonomics with included wrist rests, and vibrant ASUS Aura Sync-compatible RGB lighting. The models offer advanced customization through the multifunction key and Armoury Crate software, though the latter can be cumbersome to use. Key drawbacks include the substantial desk space required by the 100% layout and the lack of compact TenKeyLess (TKL) options for these specific models. Additionally, accessing the full potential of the keyboard's macro programming requires mandatory installation of the Armoury Crate app.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless, as reviewed by RTINGS, is an excellent, compact, 96% form-factor gaming keyboard that retains a full numpad while offering low-latency, tri-mode connectivity. It features a premium build with full RGB lighting and high-quality keycaps, making it versatile for both competitive gaming and desk space management. While providing great performance, the review highlights that the spacebar tends to rattle, and the condensed layout may require a learning curve for some users. Additionally, configuring advanced features requires using the sometimes non-intuitive Armoury Crate software.

The Asus ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless, an Editors' Choice winner, is a premium mechanical keyboard featuring a compact layout, durable aluminum frame, and versatile tri-mode connectivity. It offers a superior typing experience with pre-lubed ROG NX Snow switches, dampening foam, and exceptional battery life. However, the $180 device has dim RGB lighting, a stiff wrist rest, and a crowded layout that requires a learning curve.

Battery life stands out as a massive strength, offering up to 1,500 hours over a low-latency 2.4GHz connection with the lighting turned off, though this drops to a standard 90 hours with full RGB active. Wireless connectivity is powered by the Omni Receiver, which allows users to connect both this keyboard and a compatible Asus mouse using a single USB dongle. However, the keyboard does have notable drawbacks, including only one layer of key programmability (secondary Fn layers cannot be remapped). Additionally, customization relies on Asus's Armoury Crate software, which is criticized for being bloated, annoying to navigate, and force-feeding extraneous features like virtual pets to the user.
