The Gamezoom review of the ASUS ROG Azoth 96 HE highlights this keyboard as a feature-rich, high-performance addition to the Republic of Gamers lineup that effectively bridges the gap between mechanical design and advanced magnetic Hall Effect technology. Built on a space-saving compact 96% layout that retains the number pad, the keyboard stands out for its extensive, enthusiast-grade technical specifications. Major pros highlighted in the data sheet include its custom ASUS ROG HFX V2 Magnetic linear switches, which offer a highly flexible adjustable pre-travel distance ranging from a rapid 0.1 mm to 3.5 mm. The ASUS ROG Azoth 96 HE is an exceptionally fast, compact, high-end gaming keyboard featuring magnetic Hall-Effect switches, a built-in OLED display, a control knob, and multi-device connectivity. The review highlights its remarkable performance, specifically its incredibly low input latency. In wired mode, it clocks a swift 6.4 ms average response time, while the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle registers a highly responsive 7.1 ms. In testing the 8K wireless mode, the reviewer even captured a record-breaking, albeit unstable, outlier drop down to 5.9 ms. Beyond sheer speed, the keyboard features premium internal dampening that yields an acoustically balanced sound profile completely free of rattling or ticking noises, even on the spacebar. The deep software integration allows for advanced enthusiast customizations, such as granular adjustments to the actuation point and Rapid Trigger functions. Despite these stellar attributes, the keyboard suffers from a few notable drawbacks. The primary concern is its staggering retail price of approximately €399, making it a very expensive luxury investment rather than an impulse buy. Furthermore, the practical utility of its heavily advertised 8K polling rate mode is...

In terms of performance, the keyboard excels with its pre-lubricated switches and pre-tuned stabilizers, which deliver a smooth typing experience entirely free of annoying rattle, ticking, or clattering sounds. Furthermore, its multi-layered Gasket-Mount dampening system effectively minimizes vibration and keystroke noise. However, the reviewer noted a few notable drawbacks. Despite its steep €348 price tag, the bottom housing is constructed from plastic rather than metal. Community feedback also highlighted that the dark color palette can look like a "black hole" on a desk without active RGB lighting, and the keycaps tend to appear somewhat glossy under certain lighting conditions.

The Heise review identifies the ASUS ROG Azoth 96 HE as a top-tier, feature-packed enthusiast gaming keyboard, specifically praising its exceptional battery life, high-precision Hall Effect magnetic switches, and an 8,000 Hz polling rate. Key strengths include a satisfying typing sound, a functional OLED display, and a customizable web-based app. However, the keyboard has a very high price point of €399 and features a partial aluminum, rather than full-aluminum, housing. Additionally, the review notes that the software application lacks proper documentation, leaving some features poorly explained.
