Sennheiser Accentum Wireless SE Review | 93 Data compared

The Sennheiser Accentum wireless over-ear headphone delivers a highly precise and serious sound profile, carrying a wide soundstage with sufficient power for heavier music styles. This analytical sound signature lacks the frivolous energy and heavy bass emphasis commonly found in competing models from JBL or Sony, making it an ideal fit specifically for users who prefer exact, neutral acoustic reproduction. On the technical side, the headphone features 3.7cm drivers and offers excellent high-quality Bluetooth codec support, including aptX and aptX HD. A major advantage of the Accentum is its active noise cancellation (ANC), which effectively isolates environmental noise to provide a quiet setting for working, studying, or traveling. However, the review highlights a few notable drawbacks. The overall dynamics are somewhat limited compared to headphones equipped with larger audio drivers, and the two built-in beamforming microphones struggle under difficult conditions, allowing wind and background noise to bleed into calls. Additionally, the physical hardware completely lacks an analog audio port for wired listening, though the headphone remains easy to recommend if this feature is not required.

The Sennheiser Accentum Wireless is an over-ear, non-true-wireless headphone weighing 221 grams that offers active noise cancelling (ANC) alongside a Transparency mode for environmental awareness. Designed with Bluetooth 5.2, it features Bluetooth multipoint technology allowing users to connect to two devices simultaneously, such as a laptop and a smartphone, without dropping either connection. In terms of audio codecs, the device fully supports high-quality playback through AptX and AptX HD. For physically managing media, it includes an integrated microphone and tactile controls built directly on the device, charging conveniently via a standard USB-C connection. A standout functional benefit of these headphones is their extensive connectivity, though potential buyers should note a few hardware limitations before purchasing. On the positive side, the headphones support phone call controls, voice assistants, and offer robust connectivity options including the specialized AptX formats. However, significant downsides include the fact that they cannot be used at all without active noise cancelling enabled. Furthermore, they lack an audio cable connection or a USB-C audio interface, meaning they are non-functional when the battery dies and cannot be used in...

The Sennheiser Accentum Wireless is a mid-tier wireless over-ear headphone that offers strong value for its price, dropping significantly from its original €179 launch MSRP to around €89. Structurally, it features a sturdy, minimalist matte design that resists the creaks often found in cheaper competitors like the Sony WH-CH720N. The audio quality stands out as a major strength, delivering a full, well-balanced sound stage with a clean bass presentation that does not distort at higher volumes. Users can further tweak the acoustic profile via a 5-band equalizer and a dedicated Bass Boost setting inside the accompanying Sennheiser Smart Control app. Another crowning feature is its exceptional 50-hour battery life with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned on, coupled with a fast-charging system that provides 5 hours of music playback from a brief 10-minute USB-C charge. However, the headphones suffer from some physical and technical compromises to meet this lower price tier. A glaring omission is the complete absence of a protective carrying case or storage pouch in the retail box, leaving the headset vulnerable during travel. From a usability standpoint, the...
