What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.

Third-party reviews

What we like about FITVII Slim

  • The battery lasted about 10 days between charges in tests.
  • The 1.47 inch touchscreen is easy to read in daylight.
  • IP68 and 50 m rating mean it handles swimming and sweaty workouts.
  • 100 exercise modes cover many sports.
  • Calls from the wrist sound clear on the other end.
  • Blood pressure tracking is built in.

What we don't like about FITVII Slim

  • At 16 mm thick, the watch sits bulky on the wrist.
  • There is no GPS, so route tracking is missing.
  • The choice of watch faces is limited, and many are busy or have small print.
  • The companion app is somewhat limited.
  • The charger uses an older micro USB cable.

Verdict

Battery life is what sets the FITVII Slim apart, a budget smartwatch that lasts 10 days and fits someone who wants a bright touchscreen and many workout modes. The 1.47 inch screen is easy to read in daylight, and calls from the wrist sound clear on the other end. It is waterproof to 50 m and rated IP68, so swimming and sweaty workouts are no problem. There are 100 exercise modes, multi-sport mode and a stopwatch. Sleep reports and menstrual cycle tracking are included, and no account is needed to get started. The trade-off is a thick 16 mm body and no GPS, and the watch faces and app are limited. The charger uses micro USB, and a full charge takes 2 hours. It suits a buyer who wants a waterproof watch with a long battery on a small budget.
