What we like about Samsung Ativ Tab (2GB + 32GB)

  • Exceptional battery life that lasts for hours even under heavy use
  • Slim and lightweight 10.1-inch form factor making it highly portable
  • Includes a full version of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013
  • Features a full-sized USB port, Micro-HDMI, and MicroSD card slot for expansion
  • Strong Wi-Fi performance comparable to top-tier competitors
  • Rear 5-megapixel camera performs well for a tablet

What we don't like about Samsung Ativ Tab (2GB + 32GB)

  • Runs Windows RT, which has a very limited selection of available apps
  • High launch price made it more expensive than the Microsoft Surface and iPad
  • The 1366 x 768 resolution screen is lower than many modern competitors
  • Plastic 'Hyperglaze' finish can feel slippery and less premium than metal
  • Aggressive auto-brightness sensor can be annoying to some users
  • Desktop mode is difficult to navigate using only touch input

Verdict

The Samsung ATIV Tab is a 10.1-inch tablet featuring an HD LCD display with 1366 x 768 resolution and 2GB of RAM paired with 32GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. Powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, it runs the Windows RT operating system and includes a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9MP front camera. Main pros include its lightweight 570g build, excellent connectivity with a full-size USB port and micro HDMI, and a long-lasting 8,200mAh battery providing up to 10 hours of use. However, it faces significant drawbacks such as the limited application selection available for Windows RT, a display resolution lower than many competitors, and a plastic construction that may feel less premium than metallic rivals.
