What we don't like about Nokia T21 LTE (4GB + 64GB)

  • Underwhelming performance from the Unisoc T612 chipset, leading to lag and occasional stutters during multitasking.
  • Slow charging speeds, taking approximately three hours to reach a full charge at the maximum 18W supported rate.
  • Lack of a wall charger included in the retail box.
  • Display struggles in bright outdoor sunlight due to a relatively low peak brightness of 360 nits and reflective glass.
  • Average camera quality that is suitable for basic video calls but lacks detail and sharpness for photography, especially in low light.
  • Absence of a fingerprint sensor for biometric security, relying instead on less secure face unlock or passcodes.
  • Basic 60Hz refresh rate lacks the smoothness found on more premium or modern competitors.

Verdict

The Nokia T21 LTE is a durable 10.36-inch budget tablet featuring a 2K (1200 x 2000) IPS display with active pen support and an aluminium body with an IP52 rating. It is powered by a Unisoc T612 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, expandable up to 512GB via microSD, and includes a large 8,200 mAh battery supporting 18W charging. Main pros include its premium build quality, long battery life of up to three days, stereo speakers with OZO playback, and a commitment to two OS upgrades with three years of security updates. Notable cons include its entry-level processing performance, which can feel sluggish for demanding tasks, a relatively dim display (360 nits) that is difficult to see in direct sunlight, and the absence of a charger in the box.
