Its versatile design makes it equally suitable for intense gaming and high-end creative work. However, the review notes a high price tag and a massive, bulky footprint that may not suit smaller desks. Despite these drawbacks, the device is considered a top-tier option for users prioritizing maximum control and features.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a high-performance, full-sized wired mechanical gaming keyboard that prioritizes feature-density and gaming power. Priced at $229, it targets demanding gamers by offering top-tier specifications, including an exceptionally high 8,000Hz polling rate for near-instantaneous responsiveness, an aluminum case lined with sound-dampening PCB foam, and a plush, magnetic leatherette wrist rest for ergonomic comfort. The design leans into a heavy gaming aesthetic featuring vibrant, per-key RGB lighting and a full underglow that seamlessly extends across the sides and front of the wrist rest. It utilizes Razer's clicky Green or smooth, quiet Yellow linear switches, both rated for an extended lifespan of 100 million keystrokes. The standout highlight of this model is the return of dedicated macro keys, featuring five remappable keys on the left side, three profile-switching keys on the edge, four media keys, an infinity volume roller, and a highly customizable command dial. Pros include its ultra-fast performance, comfortable and quiet typing experience, beautiful floating-key RGB display, and the massive utility offered by its eight dedicated macro buttons. However, the keyboard has notable cons: it...

The Razer Blackwidow V4 Pro is a sturdy, full-sized mechanical gaming keyboard that offers an abundance of premium features but suffers from frustrating layout decisions. A major highlight of the keyboard is its highly versatile, colour-coded command dial in the top-left corner, which allows users to effortlessly control keyboard brightness, zoom, track selection, and browser tabs. It also features gorgeous media controls with textured aluminium knobs, a premium magnetic wrist rest with vibrant RGB underglow, a USB passthrough, and an impressive 8,000Hz polling rate for ultra-low latency. However, the linear Razer Yellow switches feel somewhat hollow and laborious to use due to an underwhelming lack of bounceback, and the fact that it is a completely wired keyboard makes its $230 asking price tough to swallow when wireless alternatives exist for less. The keyboard's most significant drawback is its awkward macro key placement, which severely hinders the daily typing experience. Razer implemented a column of macro keys down the left edge, causing the reviewer to constantly mistype by striking them instead of standard keys like Caps Lock, Shift, or Tab. Furthermore,...

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a massive, wired-only gaming keyboard designed for macro enthusiasts and users who love a bold "gamer chic" aesthetic. Priced at $229, this full-sized keyboard is packed with hardware features including an incredibly fast 8,000Hz polling rate for near-instantaneous keystroke registration, a dedicated volume roller, multimedia buttons, a highly customizable Razer Command Dial, and a magnetic leatherette palm rest. It provides unparalleled customizability, offering eight macro keys, five onboard profiles, and extensive per-key and underglow RGB lighting with 20 distinct zones on the palm rest alone, which can seamlessly sync with other Razer peripherals via the Synapse 3 software. Despite its premium features, the keyboard suffers from several design flaws and omissions that may deter certain buyers. Its primary drawbacks include a complete lack of a wireless option and the absence of hot-swappable switches, meaning users are permanently locked into choosing either linear Razer Yellow or clicky Razer Green switches upon purchase. Additionally, the dual-cord requirement for the USB passthrough severely clutters desk space, the black-on-black multimedia key legends are nearly illegible, and the clicky...

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a feature-rich, full-size mechanical gaming keyboard highlighted by RTINGS for its premium build, comfortable magnetic wrist rest, and extensive functionality including dedicated macro keys and a "Command Dial". It delivers exceptional, low-latency performance with a high polling rate, though the tested clicky Green switches exhibit tactile inconsistencies and are quite loud. Conversely, the keyboard is wired-only and lacks hot-swappable switches, limiting customization and flexibility. Furthermore, despite the premium price, it uses ABS instead of PBT keycaps, and the switches have a slow release travel that may not suit rapid-fire gaming styles, as noted by RTINGS. YouTube ·

It stands out for its extensive functionality, which includes dedicated media controls, a volume roller, five onboard profiles, and eight macro keys (five on the top-left face and three on the side border). Built with an aluminum alloy case, it features immersive per-key RGB lighting that extends to a detachable magnetic leatherette wrist rest, a USB-A passthrough port, and an impressive polling rate of up to 8,000Hz for split-second input speeds. The review unit utilized proprietary Razer Linear Yellow switches, which provide a quiet, satisfying, and highly responsive typing experience without the loud click-clacks of standard boards. The Thumb Culture review highlights the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro as a premium, feature-packed mechanical gaming keyboard that earns their "Gold Award". The reviewer praises several functional and design pros, including its sturdy build quality, high-end aesthetics, and immersive Chroma RGB lighting with per-key and underglow illumination across both the chassis and the included magnetic leatherette wrist rest. Highly practical hardware additions like the versatile Command Dial (which stores up to 100 custom modes via Razer Synapse software), 8 dedicated macro keys, and a built-in USB power passthrough are noted as standout operational advantages. Additionally, the durable Doubleshot ABS keycaps are commended for resisting structural wear and key legend fading during long-term, intensive use. Conversely, the assessment outlines notable cons regarding its price tag and design constraints, explicitly flagging a steep initial retail cost of £229.99 as a major financial hurdle for a purely wired peripheral. While the article reviewer experienced optimal, responsive typing performance, public community feedback appended to the review exposes physical quality risks, such as severe "key bounce" issues that trigger duplicated inputs on standard keystrokes. This review by Matthew Wojciow from Gaming Respawn awards the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro an 8.0 out of 10 score, characterizing it as an awesome, beefy addition to a home gaming setup that doubles as an excellent everyday keyboard. The author highly praises its ergonomic design, highlighted by velvety soft cushioning on the included palm rests, which significantly eases tension during long hours of writing. For daily productivity, the rollable volume control and dedicated media panel make background listening a breeze. Additionally, the elevated, widely separated keys reduce errors for typists. In gaming mode, the board excels with zero input lag and instant keystroke registration across various tested titles. The integrated LED lighting system also delivers an impressive color-changing startup show. However, the review details a few notable drawbacks, summarizing the core cons as being very heavy, very bulky, and taking up a lot of desk space. The reviewer notes that the unit instantly announced its presence on a mid-sized desk with a heavy thud, requiring a period of physical adjustments due to its massive footprint. Furthermore, the keys are...

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a full-size mechanical gaming keyboard priced at $230 (£230 / AU$400) that expands heavily on customization and physical controls. This fourth-generation model upgrades the maximum polling rate to 8,000Hz and introduces a highly customizable command dial in the upper left corner for mapping operations like zooming and scrolling. It features expanded RGB lighting with new left, right, and wrist rest underglow strips, and retains durable Razer Green (tactile) or Yellow (linear) switches rated for 100 million keypresses alongside DoubleShot ABS keycaps. Key upgrades include a vastly improved, strongly magnetic faux-leather wrist rest and the highly requested addition of a USB passthrough port. However, full customization requires keeping Razer’s Synapse utility running, as many advanced settings cannot be saved directly to the keyboard's internal memory. The keyboard has distinct advantages and drawbacks regarding its physical layout and ergonomics. On the positive side, it offers durable mechanical switches, vibrant expanded lighting zones, a comfortable attachable wrist rest, and handy USB passthrough functionality. On the negative side, the three thin macro switches and five macro keys on...

It offers massive customisation potential through a tactile command wheel, three side buttons, four media keys, and an industrial scroll wheel that defaults to volume control. The review highlights distinct advantages and drawbacks of the keyboard. On the positive side, the customisable command wheel is highly versatile for macro spamming in MMOs or shifting brush sizes in Photoshop. Additionally, the Green Clicky switches provide excellent feedback without feeling overly cumbersome. However, a primary complaint is the offset layout of the four left-side macro keys, which easily causes accidental presses due to muscle memory. Finally, its steep $229.99 MSRP positions it at the upper price limit for consumer...

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is identified by PCMag as a high-performance, full-size mechanical keyboard tailored for power users, featuring a customizable Command Dial and eight dedicated macro keys. Pros include exceptional RGB lighting, including on the plush wrist rest, and quiet typing via Yellow Linear switches with effective dampening. The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a premium wired mechanical keyboard designed as a comprehensive "battlestation" for both hardcore gamers and content creators. Its standout features include a high degree of customization through eight dedicated macro keys and the new Razer Command Dial, which offers tactile control for productivity tasks. The design is bolstered by exceptional build quality, featuring a matte black aluminum top case and a magnetic plush leatherette wrist rest that includes integrated Chroma RGB underglow lighting for a striking visual aesthetic. While the keyboard excels in performance—offering a comfortable typing experience with linear Razer Yellow or clicky Razer Green switches—it comes with notable trade-offs. A primary con is the $229 starting price, which may be steep for some users, and the removal of wireless support found in its predecessor, the V3 Pro. Additionally, despite its high cost, it uses ABS plastic keycaps rather than the more durable PBT material. However, the extensive lighting options, subtle matte design, and robust macro functionality make it a top-tier choice for those who prioritize control and "firepower" at their desk.
