Keychron Q6 Max QMK VIA Wireless Review | 64 Data compared

The Wales Online review highly praises the Keychron Q6 Max, styling it as a "beast" and one of the finest options on the mechanical keyboard market. The prominent pros of this full-size keyboard include its robust, premium all-aluminium body, highly versatile triple-mode connectivity (rock-solid 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C wired), and full cross-compatibility with both Windows and Mac systems. The reviewer heavily emphasizes the exceptional typing experience, noting that the double-gasket structure delivers a satisfying tactile bump, a solid click, and beautiful acoustics. Additionally, it features a dedicated volume/mute knob, 22 modes of customizable south-facing RGB lighting, and deep structural customizability through the web-based Keychron Launcher app, which eliminates the need to install desktop software. Despite its high praise, the review explicitly outlines a few notable cons regarding ergonomics, hardware design, and pricing. First, the heavy metal body compromises its portability, making it unsuitable for carrying around. Because of its substantial weight, the keyboard lacks built-in adjustment legs, forcing a fixed typing angle that prevents users from modifying the height out of the box. This specific angle restriction...

The Keychron Q6 Max is a premium, full-size mechanical keyboard built like a tank with a dense aluminum chassis weighing 4.85lbs (2.2kg). Designed for typists and gamers seeking top-tier quality, it offers an exceptional typing experience and satisfying, quiet "clacky" acoustics courtesy of its double-gasket mount and internal acoustic foam layers. The keyboard stands out for its high customizability, featuring double-shot PBT keycaps in a striking "Carbon Black" layout, hot-swappable switch compatibility with 3-pin and 5-pin MX switches, and dual system support for seamless switching between Windows and macOS layouts. However, its premium design comes with notable compromises, primarily its extreme weight and bulk which severely limit portability. Users cannot adjust the keyboard's typing angle or height due to a lack of adjustable feet, and it does not include a wrist rest despite its high $219 price tag. Performance-wise, the physical connectivity toggle on the back is awkwardly stiff and difficult to set to wired mode. Furthermore, its customization relies on a slightly restrictive, web-based Launcher app that only functions in Chromium browsers, requires a wired connection, and lacks a...

The Keychron Q6 Max Review on Crafting Worlds highlights this full-size mechanical keyboard as a top-tier option for both productivity and gaming. Built with a heavy, solid aluminum chassis weighing 9 pounds, the keyboard provides exceptional durability, an incredibly stable desk presence, and a modern, minimalist aesthetic. The typing experience stands out due to the Gateron Jupiter Red linear switches, which deliver a smooth, quiet, and highly satisfying actuation that actually helped the reviewer surpass their previous typing speed records. Key areas of functionality include a highly useful physical volume knob, dedicated macro keys, tri-mode connectivity (wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless), and deep customization support via the user-friendly Keychron launcher and VIA software. However, the review points out several design and acoustic shortcomings that perfectionists should consider. On the downside, the RGB backlighting is quite dim, even at its maximum setting, which might disappoint users looking for a vibrant lighting display. The clean visual aesthetic is also slightly marred by the conspicuous Wi-Fi and Bluetooth indicator text printed directly on the top surface. Additionally, the acoustic profile suffers from inconsistent...
