What we like about ASUS ROG Strix Scope TKL Gundam Edition

  • Unique and striking Gundam-themed aesthetic and figure motif
  • Excellent build quality with a durable aluminum top plate
  • Compact tenkeyless (TKL) design saves desk space for mouse movement
  • Vivid and highly customizable per-key RGB lighting with underglow
  • Extra-wide 'Xccurate' left CTRL key is highly beneficial for FPS gaming
  • Convenient 'Stealth Key' instantly hides all apps and mutes audio
  • Responsive typing experience with various Cherry MX switch options

What we don't like about ASUS ROG Strix Scope TKL Gundam Edition

  • Higher price point compared to standard TKL mechanical keyboards
  • Armoury Crate software is often reported as bloated, buggy, and slow
  • Lack of dedicated media keys and volume wheel
  • Some users report a non-standard bottom row making custom keycap replacement difficult
  • Wired-only connection with latency that may not suit the most elite competitive gamers
  • Keycaps may have a smooth finish that some find uncomfortable or prone to fingerprints

Verdict

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope TKL Gundam Edition is a high-performance, tenkeyless (80%) mechanical gaming keyboard featuring a durable aluminum top plate and official Gundam-licensed aesthetics. Key specifications include German-made Cherry MX RGB switches (available in Red, Blue, or Brown), a detachable 1.8m braided USB-C cable, and an oversized 'Xccurate' Ctrl key designed for improved FPS precision. Its main characteristics include per-key Aura Sync RGB lighting, a dedicated Stealth key for instant privacy, and N-key rollover with 1000Hz polling for responsive inputs. The primary pros are its robust build quality, space-saving compact footprint, and specialized gaming features, while potential cons include a premium price point and a slight learning curve for its non-standard key layouts.
