Anker Soundcore Life 2 Review | 93 Data compared

The Anker Soundcore Life 2 over-the-ear headphones offer stellar battery life and exceptional comfort at an affordable price point. Powered by 40mm drivers, they deliver clear, crisp audio for music and spoken word, and support Hi-Res audio playback. The standout feature is the 30-hour battery life with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) enabled, which can be extended significantly when using the included 3.5mm cable. For travel, the design is highly practical, featuring a folding hinge and a custom travel case. Comfort is a major pro, as the memory foam-infused, soft-grain leather ear cups completely enclose the ear, making them comfortable for long periods and a great fit for glasses-wearers. On the downside, the reviewer notes several cons regarding functionality, design, and audio limitations. While the sound is generally high quality, deep tones can become muddy during bass-heavy media like video explosions. The ANC is only mediocre, performing decently against monotonous background drone sounds but failing to match the performance of pricier models. Physical design drawbacks include a prominent "thump" sound in the ear cup with each footstep, making them distracting for...

The Honest John Kit review highlights the Anker Soundcore Life 2 as an exceptional value option for budget-conscious buyers seeking over-ear, wireless headphones for under £100. Retailing at approximately £80, these headphones are praised for their robust Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which effectively silences office chatter, commuter noise, and keyboard tapping. The reviewer notes that the device provides a rich, rounded listening experience via its 40mm drivers and lightweight design featuring soft memory foam earcups. Battery performance is another standout feature, delivering 30 hours of wireless playback with ANC activated, 60 hours in wired mode, and unlimited playtime when wired without ANC. On the downside, the review notes that the physical design is heavily functional rather than modern or sleek, and the headphones proved to be slightly too large for the reviewer's small head. While the earcups fold down and swivel flat for travel convenience, the headphones also suffer from very slight noise leakage. In terms of audio performance, the "BassUp" technology fails to provide a truly thumping bass experience, meaning they may not entirely satisfy fans of house, hip...

The Anker Soundcore Life 2 wireless over-ear headphones deliver highly impressive, reliable audio quality and exceptional comfort for everyday users at a very budget-friendly price point of £55.99 (around $72). Boasting an understated all-black design with subtle branding, the headphones feature incredibly soft memory foam ear cushioning and a speaker-covering mesh that prevents noise leakage on public transport. Furthermore, they offer excellent battery life that easily handles multiple hours of daily use over several days on a single charge, removing the hassle of frequent recharging. However, the headphones have a few notable drawbacks, primarily regarding active noise cancellation (ANC) and button layout. The ANC functions more as a helpful bonus than a core asset, failing to isolate background noise to the standard of premium models from Bose or Sony, making them less suitable for long-haul flights. Additionally, the physical controls on the earcups are poorly distinguished; the play/pause button is hard to locate between the volume keys, and the power and ANC buttons share the identical size and shape, which can lead to accidental power-offs.

The Anker Soundcore Life 2 over-ear headphones offer a budget-friendly entry into active noise cancellation (ANC), retailing at $79.99 to replace the previous Space NC model. Weighing 263 grams, the foldable headset features a robust steel headband, polycarbonate hinges, and comfortable memory foam protein leather earcups suitable for long listening sessions. It drops its predecessor's finicky touch gestures in favor of reliable, physical buttons on the earcups to manage power, ANC, volume, and playback. While the audio from the 40mm drivers will not satisfy audiophiles, it delivers a wide soundstage with a good instrument separation across the mid- to high-range, alongside an impressive bass response that can be further boosted using a built-in "BassUp" mode. The review highlights distinct pros and cons regarding the headset's performance and design limits. On the positive side (pros), the headphones provide an exceptional battery life of up to 30 hours wirelessly with ANC turned on, which expands up to 60 hours when utilizing the included 3.5mm auxiliary cable. The physical control layout is highly responsive, the overall construction is solid, and Qualcomm's cVc noise...

The Anker Soundcore Life 2 are budget-friendly, over-ear headphones featuring a 28-hour battery life, a bass-boost effect, and a detachable cable that eliminates Bluetooth latency. While suitable for varied usage, they struggle in noisy environments due to poor Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), possess an unindicated bass boost setting, and suffer from high wireless latency.
