Reviews score

Reviews score
✕
What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves. Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Score: The average grade is 80% of the review mark; the number of reviews is the other 20% (1 review = 5, the typical number in this category = 8, the most-reviewed model = 10).
Enough data: With few reviews, the average grade is pulled toward the typical grade of this category. No reviews yet: 7.2 for now.
Share: Reviews count 25% of the overall score.

What we like about Voltra Air

  • 35 days of battery life covers long trips without a charger.
  • Built-in GPS tracks runs and rides on its own.
  • HRV tracking and a readiness score show when to train hard.
  • Training load tracking helps balance hard and easy weeks.
  • 127 exercises cover many different sports.
  • The IP68 rating with 1.5 m depth covers pool sessions.

What we don't like about Voltra Air

  • The 1.5 m depth rating rules out deeper water.
  • With 0.1 GB of internal storage, it holds very little.
  • A full charge takes 2 hours.
  • The 20 mm band width limits which straps fit.

Verdict

Thirty-five days on one charge is the first thing that draws attention to the Voltra Air. Charging takes about two hours, so the battery is rarely a worry. Built-in GPS tracks runs and rides without the phone. It also tracks heart rate variability and skin temperature, and a readiness score shows when to train hard and when to rest. Training load tracking and 127 exercises give athletes plenty to work with, and a blood pressure monitor adds another check. Sleep tracking, calorie burn and steps cover everyday use. The trade-off is storage: 0.1 GB of internal space holds very little, so it is not a music player. It suits a serious runner or cyclist who wants a long battery, GPS and recovery data, and is happy with the free app.
