Reviews score

Reviews score
✕
What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves. Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Score: The average grade is 80% of the review mark; the number of reviews is the other 20% (1 review = 5, the typical number in this category = 8, the most-reviewed model = 10).
Enough data: With few reviews, the average grade is pulled toward the typical grade of this category. No reviews yet: 7.2 for now.

Third-party reviews

What we like about KSIX Serena

  • 100 exercises give a wide choice in one watch.
  • Multi-sport mode lets you switch between sports during a workout.
  • The 5 ATM and 50 m rating covers swimming.
  • At 20 g it is light for a watch with a display.
  • The camera remote control takes photos from the wrist.
  • A replaceable watch band lets you swap the strap.

What we don't like about KSIX Serena

  • Battery life is 7 days, so charging is a weekly job.
  • A full charge takes 2 hours.
  • The 0.97 inch screen is small for reading long data.
  • A small 18 mAh cell leaves little room for long days.

Verdict

For people who train in many different sports, the KSIX Serena is worth a look. Its 100 exercises and multi-sport mode cover plenty of ground, from a swim to a gym session. The 5 ATM and 50 m rating means it can stay on through a pool session. It weighs 20 g and has a display that shows distance, pace and heart rate. Step, calorie and sleep tracking cover everyday use. The trade-off is the battery. With a small 18 mAh cell, it runs 7 days, so you will charge it about once a week, and each charge takes 2 hours. The 0.97 inch screen is also small, so it suits quick checks more than long reading. It suits someone who trains in several sports and does not mind a weekly charge.
