Reviews score

Reviews score
✕
What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves. Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Score: The average grade is 80% of the review mark; the number of reviews is the other 20% (1 review = 5, the typical number in this category = 8, the most-reviewed model = 10).
Enough data: With few reviews, the average grade is pulled toward the typical grade of this category. No reviews yet: 7.2 for now.
Share: Reviews count 25% of the overall score.

Third-party reviews

What we like about NK Smartband-02

  • Blood pressure monitoring is built in, which is uncommon for a band.
  • IP67 rating protects it from sweat, rain and dust.
  • Heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep tracking cover the basics.
  • Steps, distance and calorie counts are all included.
  • It works with both Android and iOS phones.
  • Notifications show on the wrist, so you can check messages quickly.

What we don't like about NK Smartband-02

  • The 200 nits screen is hard to read in bright sunlight.
  • At 80 g it is heavier than a slim band.
  • The 1 m depth rating rules out swimming.
  • A companion app is required to use the band.

Verdict

Health readings beyond steps are the reason to look at the NK Smartband-02, a low-cost band. Its blood pressure monitor is the uncommon extra here. It also tracks heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep, and it counts steps, distance and calories. The case is plastic and rated IP67, so sweat and rain do no harm. The 1 m depth rating limits it to splashes and shallow water. The small LCD is the downside. At 200 nits it is hard to read in bright sun, and the 0.96 inch screen is small. At 80 g it is on the heavy side for a band. The band works with Android and iOS through a companion app. It suits someone on a budget who wants basic health numbers and can live with a dim screen.
