The Akaso V50 Pro ("The Endless Summer" Special Edition) is a budget-friendly, entry-level action camera priced at $119.99 to $139.99 that excels at delivering reliable, smooth, and detailed 4K video at 30fps using basic electronic image stabilization (EIS). Built with a tactical silicone chassis that resists fingerprints, it stands out by featuring a built-in 1/4-inch tripod thread on the bottom and a large 2-inch touchscreen display. Its greatest selling point is a massive out-of-the-box accessory package, which includes two 1,100mAh batteries, a battery charger, a waterproof case safe down to 100 feet (30 meters), a mounting frame, and a highly impressive wrist remote control. Furthermore, the upgraded 20MP sensor captures vibrant, detailed JPEG photos with multiple preset modes like long exposure and photo bursts. However, the camera suffers from several notable usability quirks and technical limitations. A major drawback is its outdated Mini USB charging port, a baffling hardware choice that forces users to reintroduce obsolete cables to their setups. Performance-wise, the 2-inch touchscreen is frequently laggy and requires double or triple presses to register actions, while the accompanying free...

The Akaso V50 Pro is a budget-friendly 4K action camera designed for outdoor enthusiasts who want core recording capabilities without an expensive price tag. The camera records sharp 4K video at 30fps and captures 16-megapixel photos with colourful results. It stands out from modern competitors by including an incredibly generous bundle of accessories, such as a wrist remote control, two batteries, an external charger, and a waterproof housing capable of diving up to 100 feet. Furthermore, it retains a built-in 1/4-inch tripod thread on the bottom chassis, a highly practical mounting feature that most modern action cameras have abandoned. However, the device compromises on several usability fronts to achieve its low price point. Its hardware relies on an outdated, legacy Mini USB port for charging rather than a modern connection. In terms of performance, the built-in 2-inch rear touchscreen is notable but noticeably laggy, forcing users to rely on physical top buttons to navigate the menus. Additionally, the companion Akaso DV smartphone app is prone to stalling and crashing whenever users attempt to download media files. The camera also lacks...

Measuring roughly 1" x 1.5" x 2.25", it features a soft-touch surface, a microphone, a built-in speaker, and a full rear-panel touch screen used for framing and playback. The camera stands out for its exceptional value, coming packed with a massive collection of accessories right in the box. These items include a wrist-worn remote, two batteries with a dual charger, a 6-axis gyroscope for electronic image stabilization (EIS), and an extensive assortment of clamps, straps, and brackets. It also features adjustable viewing angles (Super Wide to Narrow), built-in Wi-Fi, a micro-HDMI port, and a standard tripod screw mount, alongside a dedicated waterproof housing designed to withstand water sports. The reviewer highlights several major pros, including the incredibly rich bundle of accessories, its pocketable size with minimal physical input buttons, and the seamless connectivity of the included remote control. However, the device has notable cons. The rear touch screen occasionally balks or shows hesitancy to...

The AKASO V50 Pro SE is a budget-friendly action camera priced at $109.99 that serves as an adequate alternative to expensive GoPro or DJI models for riders on a realistic budget. Tested extensively on a motorcycle handlebar and tail mount, the camera excelled at Full HD (1080p) and 2K (1440p) resolutions, showcasing outstanding digital image stabilization that easily smoothed out high-frequency engine vibrations. Its built-in electronic wind noise reduction performed exceptionally well during rides, and the retail package came packed with a generous variety of accessories, including two fast-charging batteries, a dual charger, a wrist remote, and various GoPro-compatible mounts. However, the camera is held back by several notable limitations and build-quality issues. The most significant defect encountered was a persistent firmware or hardware "hard lock" that crashed the unit within seconds of attempting to record in 4K resolution. Additionally, the plastic body, buttons, and battery door feel distinctly cheap and tinny, while the touchscreen display is highly fragile and scratches at an alarming rate even with gentle use. It also lacks a universal 3.5mm external microphone jack—requiring a proprietary...

The AKASO V50 Pro SE is a budget-friendly action camera that stands out by offering competitive high-end features, such as 4K/60fps video recording, 20MP photos, and extensive built-in shooting modes like time-lapse, dive, and dashcam functionalities. It provides a generous accessory bundle right in the box—including three 1100mAh batteries, a wrist remote, a waterproof case rated down to 130 feet (40m), and multiple mounting brackets—making it an exceptional value compared to expensive GoPros. Real-world performance yields solid results: the build quality feels premium with soft-touch plastic, the 2-inch touchscreen remains bright under direct sunlight, the image stabilization effectively smooths out shaky footage (though it is unavailable at 4K/60fps), and a fully charged battery provides up to 81 minutes of continuous recording. However, the camera suffers from clunky internal software, an unverified or sluggish touchscreen response, and a rudimentary mobile companion app that frequently receives poor reviews. Connecting to the smartphone app requires a frustrating, undocumented workaround of manually turning off your mobile data first. Furthermore, the device is not natively waterproof without its bundled bulky external housing. Using the case...

The Akaso V50 Pro Action Camera earns a 4 out of 5 stars rating from reviewer Laura Tucker, who highlights it as a highly capable, budget-friendly alternative to name-brand GoPro models. The camera arrives exceptionally well-packaged and includes an extensive selection of out-of-the-box accessories, such as a waterproof casing, two batteries, a dual charger, a wristband remote, and various mounting straps for helmets or handlebars. In terms of functionality, users can leverage a wide array of built-in settings, including image stabilization, wind noise reduction, distortion calibration, and multi-resolution photo/video capture. Furthermore, media management is straightforward; content transfers easily to mobile devices or tablets over a direct Wi-Fi connection via a dedicated companion app. However, the reviewer details a few distinct drawbacks regarding the camera's setup and outdoor operation. While the packaging securely protects the device, it is heavily glued and bolted, making the initial unboxing process frustratingly difficult without a screwdriver. The camera also lacks an included SD card, requiring a separate purchase before any media can be saved. When filming on the go, utilizing the wristband remote can prove...

The eTeknix review of the AKASO V50 Pro highlights it as a feature-packed, budget-friendly option for outdoor enthusiasts looking for high-resolution recording without the hefty price tag of a GoPro. The camera boasts a native 4K recording capability at 30 frames per second alongside a crisp 20-megapixel photo resolution. Key positive features highlighted in the testing include its integrated 2-inch touch screen for direct menu control, an adjustable field of view, and an instant sharing feature via smartphone integration. Additionally, it implements an advanced electronic image stabilisation (EIS) system to smooth out jerky movements during high-intensity activities like biking or skiing, making it a highly well-rounded device for amateurs. However, the review points out several specific drawbacks that users must accommodate given its lower price point. The device utilizes an older, less convenient mini USB slot instead of standard modern connections, and the associated smartphone application is noted for its tendency to crash. Users looking to quickly offload high-resolution media will also find it frustrating that the app does not support downloading 4K video directly to your phone, requiring a...

Key highlights include an intuitive 2-inch responsive touch screen interface, built-in Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) with a 6-axis gyroscope for smooth footage, and adjustable viewing angles. The camera also includes built-in Wi-Fi for smartphone connectivity via the iSmart Pro+ app and supports an external microphone to capture enhanced audio. A major advantage of the V50 Pro is its rich package of included accessories, which features a durable 30-meter waterproof case with a red light diving filter, two 1100mAh batteries with a dual charger, and various mounts that are fully compatible with GoPro hardware. On the downside, a noticeable flaw is that the camera resets its internal date setting whenever the battery is removed for more than a few minutes. Users must swap the batteries quickly or rely...

Setup and operation are straightforward, utilizing a vibrant but slightly laggy rear touch screen to navigate an extensive suite of settings like H.264/H.265 codecs, time-lapse, wind noise reduction, and custom color filters.
