SJCAM C110 Plus Review | 96 Data compared

The SJCAM C110 Plus is a compact 79-gram action camera offering 4K/30fps recording and a 170° field of view, making it suitable for casual vlogging, according to reviews. Key strengths include 6-axis gyro stabilization, f/1.8 aperture for decent low-light performance, magnetic mounting, and waterproof capabilities. However, the camera has limited battery life, particularly in 4K, and minimal on-device controls, requiring heavy reliance on a smartphone app. While suitable for entry-level use, it exhibits noticeable image grain in low light and poor wind noise reduction in the microphone, based on reports. Further details are available from manufacturer and retailer specifications.

The SJCAM C110 Plus is a thumb-sized 4K action camera priced at $149.00 that is designed to capture photos and videos hands-free without using a smartphone. The camera records video up to 4K at 30fps, captures 20MP photos, and features 6-axis gyro stabilization, a 170° field of view, and a 1100mAh battery offering up to 130 minutes of runtime. It comes bundled with a waterproof case rated up to 98 feet, a wearable magnetic lanyard, and other mounting hardware. While the reviewer noted that the camera is very easy to use, highly affordable, and delivers decent image and video quality in well-lit environments, they found it difficult to frame shots accurately because the device lacks any built-in front or rear display screen. Major complaints focus heavily on the camera's poor software experience and underwhelming hardware stabilization. The required SJCAM Zone smartphone app is described as highly unstable, frequently crashing back to the home screen unless users inconveniently turn off their phone's cellular radio. Furthermore, the built-in 6-axis stabilization fails to smoothly absorb motion while walking, resulting in jittery footage where...

The SJCAM C110+ is a budget-friendly, thumb-sized action camera designed primarily for vertical-mount recording and aimed at budget-conscious riders. Key advantages highlighted in the review include its compact form factor, an affordable manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $149, and its capability to capture up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. Additionally, unlike some of its similarly tiny competitors, it uniquely features a removable microSD card slot, supporting cards of at least 128GB. The camera also functions well as a basic trip recorder or a durable, cheap dashcam that can handle physical wear and tear. However, the reviewer details significant hardware and software limitations. The camera includes only two physical buttons, making users highly reliant on a clunky, basic mobile app connected via Wi-Fi for switching modes, tweaking settings, and viewing footage. Hardware drawbacks include poor audio quality with severe distortion, inadequate wind noise cancellation—even when utilizing the fully enclosed plastic case—and subpar image stabilization when hard-mounted directly to a motorcycle. Furthermore, the battery performs poorly in cold climates, draining from 75% to zero in under an hour....
